I’d talk to the vet – they may have some very specific suggestions. On a more general suggestion I know benadryl is safe for dogs, but I’d discuss that with your vet. They might have something more tailored to your dog’s specific allergy.
An abscess is a form of infection. Left unchecked it can cause significant health issues. I would say yes, this is the beginning of a serious issue.
I would talk to the vet who’s been monitoring the dam throughout the pregnancy as well as your breed mentor.

Look into nosework. Minimal physical effort for you, TONS OF MENTAL WORK for him. Everybody wins. Plus the AKC now has nosework competitions, which are a lot cheaper than the other nosework orgs out there.
