Run, do not walk, to the nearest vet who can do an echocardiogram and 24 hour holter.

This looks like an emergency to me. Please get your pet to the vet before this gets any worse.

I agree with Sarah – you need to revisit the clippers (or dremel) in a different way.

Are you on Facebook? There’s a FANTASTIC group focused on doing nails in a way that the dog isn’t stressed. Some members build scratch boards for their dogs to use while they’re training them to accept clippers. I would encourage you to join and read all the Files: https://www.facebook.com/groups/nail.maintenance.for.dogs/learning_content/

What did your vet say when you took her in? You DID take her in the day this started, right? If not it’s beyond emergent now…

Dr. Magnifico’s your best bet for medical stuff, but I’d be very, very careful with any dog imported from outside our borders. Even a dog coming in from Hawaii would have me concerned.

Why?

In the last year I’ve trained two puppies from outside the continental US, and both died of distemper due to misrepresented shot records. PLEASE follow quarantine protocols to the letter, for the safety of your existing pets.

Pro Plan isn’t Beneful (which actually is trash), and is the most common food fed to show and sport dogs. If your dog does well on it, don’t change it.

I’m so sorry, Jasmine. Know you gave him a good, long life. Any of us can see that. Please, be gentle with yourself – you made the right choice for him.

Inappropriate urination is often the first noticeable sign something is wrong. Increased thirst means this has been going on long enough to be a total body problem. I would put a lot of effort into getting her seen sooner than later…going too long can and will cause further damage to her already very sick body.

(Dr. M told me bad breath is kidneys. Expect a full urinalysis and bloodwork, plus the possibility of subcutaneous fluids and prescription diet.)

I don’t believe so. As I understand it, syncope and fainting can be symptoms but are not the same as seizures.

I’d definitely hit a specialist, then. Dr. Magnifico is right – neuro is the way to go (I wasn’t thinking straight when I suggested ortho). Good luck.
