Hello Annie, just a note on top of what Krista has said, having had a dog with this condition myself. She was younger than your boy too. I’m afraid your only option here is expensive surgery. If you decide to go down that route find a Specialist to do the Surgery. In the UK we have to be referred by our own Vet for Specialist treatment but I don’t know about Canada.
