no need to give wooden chews. just give normal hard food to chew on, like nuts.

I believe it’s the oils in the pine that are problematic. Best to avoid.

avoid pine and cedar. The oils are toxic and also cause issues with breathing. Use care fresh or aspen or shredded paper for bedding. Don’t use pine wood chews either. You can find apple or pear twigs and use those, you can also use mini carrots to help with chewing issues. enjoy your gerbil!
