    Hello,
It can be signs of many things but it is usually a sign of something serious and you should see your vet as quickly as possible.

    Hello
A trainer might be able to help you with basic obedience training so that he listens to commands and learns to listen before acting. Also it might help to start to expose him to cats in a safe neutral territory so that he gets used to them and is not so curious about chasing or harassing them. Dogs can be trained to live with cats safely. Good luck.

Hey There, I Am 17 Years Old And I Adore Animals. I Live With Just…

Hey there, I am 17 years old and I adore animals. I live with just myself and my mother and I currently have 4 cats (soon to be more probably) 2 gerbils, and 2 goldfish. I look after my pets very well and make sure they are happy and healthy.

I have always loved birds and have always pictured myself having a parrot (such as a macaw) I have owned finches, budgies, and other small pasts in the distant past, but I haven’t had any for a while thus I will not get a large bird like a macaw. One that has really caught my eye is a Sun Conure. I think they are beautiful birds and would love to have one as a pet to commit my time to.

I will mention in a list-styled fashion what my concerns are:

-I am 17, very young and my life is just beginning. I don’t travel much but will likely travel every so often. Not to mention I may be starting university soon.

-I have 4 cats, obviously cats and birds don’t mix. My plan would mainly be to just make sure they are seperated at all times in the house but I am still concerned, should I be?

-Gerbils natural predators are birds, as far as I know, Sun Conures do not eat rodents, however they would still terrify my gerbils. Gerbils only live until around 4 years old so maybe once they are gone I will get my bird.

Besides what I listed, I cannot think of any reasons as to why I would not be ready. I will always commit my free time to looking after it and spending time with it, I will be sure it’s healthy, regular check ups, and so forth. Would like to hear some feed back. Am I ready?

    Hello,
It sounds like you have a very full and busy life with your pets already and that you are about to embark on a new adventure at school. birds need a great deal of time and attention and can be very fragile in stressful environments. I think it would be best to focus on your current pets and starting another chapter of your life and leave the bird quest for a time when you are settled and comfortable with a home and can devote the hours and space needed to care for them adequately.

    Hello,
I think the best way is to see a vet for an injectable sedative. The other option is to keep the penis lubricated with sterile KY jelly and wait until the tissue relaxes on its own. Protecting against self mutilation and trauma along with drying is imperative. Please also neuter your dog.

My Almost 7 Year Old Puggle Minnie Has Started Throwing Up After She Has Food…

My almost 7 year old Puggle Minnie has started throwing up after she has food or a snack. She has been on the same food all her life and the same snacks too. This throwing up just started on Sunday of this week (July 23rd). She also recently started hiding under the bed in the mornings because she doesn’t want to go out. I have an appointment with her vet on Friday but I am worried and wondered if anyone had any suggestions or thoughts. Thank you!

Is it possible this is a bad bag? Definitely talk with the vet about this.

  2. Jennifer Taylor

Is the vomiting accompanied by diarrhea? Is she drinking? Is she able to keep any food down? Although it is late in the day I would call my vet to get their thoughts. Best wishes for Minnie!

  3. Carrie Deitz

Thank you. No diarrhea. My husband just told me that she did eat her food late last night with no issues. We aren’t giving her snacks since that seems to be the trigger. We have an appointment with the vet tomorrow. I appreciate you responding!

After the vet, I was going to encourage an elimination diet to figure out the trigger. Stick to high quality treats from now on. 🙂 Good luck!

How long should you wait to play with a boxer puppy (almost 8mos old) after they eat? I’ve read about bloat and am trying to nail down our morning routine.

When our Dobe was a pup, we kept her quiet for an hour before and an hour after all meals. I would stick to that…and maybe, instead of playing, use puppy’s meal as a training opportunity, since mental work trumps physical work for wearing out a dog of any age. Use the meal as training treats instead of actual treats. 🙂

Was he hand raised? He may not be hand tame, which would make him terrified.

I would advise you to get in to see your vet. The fact that she is limping so badly still and is lethargic has me quite concerned. Your vet will be able to give her a thorough exam and run blood tests for all sorts of possibilities, including Lyme. From there, you should be able to get a good diagnosis and start to heal your girl. Very best of luck!!

Your dog needs veterinary attention asap. What your describing makes me think of tick-borne disease or something else equally or more serious.
