I found this cat a few hours ago in my garden.(i named him Simba). Hes actually a kitten, very small, cute and adorable.
Ive put him in a box and gave him some milk. He drank about 150ml of milk. Now he just doesnt move and look very sad. Ive cover him with a napkin in case hes cold. I just feel like hes bored and depressed. What am i doing wrong? Should i feed him something else? Does he need another cat because hes lonely?

On Friday, my husband stepped on our male cat’s paw and he let out a yelp. Our female cat, violently attacked him and we were only able to stop the fight by locking her out of the room. Saturday, the male cat snuck his way into the room she was being held in and she violently attacked again. Today we have been switching them in and out of rooms to keep them apart. She has been sniffing where he has been excessively as if she has never smelled him before. They have been playing ok under the door, but when we cracked it slightly, the minute she saw him she hissed again and lunged trying to get him. They have lived together for over 3 years and this has never happened. What should we do?

Anonymous This is certainly bizarre behavior. I’d keep them separated for now. Get your male to the vet to get his foot checked, too, in case he’s injured and she’s sensing that.

I agree with Laura. I would be concerned that the male is injured and the female attacked because he smelled, or looked, or even acted differently. Cats (dogs too) will often attack another household pet when they act (smell/look) differently (the classic example is the pet having a seizure that the others then attack). In an effort to protect the male you should separate them. But I would have both cats looked at by your vet.
I would also ask about trying Feliway, and even something to help her anxiety like an SSRI (prozac). Please dont wait. best wishes.

If you got the dewormer from your vet they need to be notified as soon as possible. If this was an over the counter dewormer please see a vet immediately. If your dog is sick and if she is not acting normally I recommend you seek immediate veterinary assistance at the emergency clinic. Please never buy or use OTC dewormers without your vets ok first. They are terribly toxic in my opinion and I have seen them cause more problems than they solve. A vomiting puppy should always be considered an emergency as they are very fragile and can dehydrate quickly.

If the itching and chewing is resulting in open wounds you need to seek veterinary help. In most cases something to stop the irch is needed along with antibiotics and an ecollar. They can have him felling better very soon. -

I have a four year old Patterdale terrier. He has started to attack the TV when I watch cooking shows. He jumps at the TV and starts to try and bite it. We have tried putting out of the room and bringing him back in once the show has ended but he starts moaning if he is out of the room for too long.
Could I have some advice on how to stop this behaviour?

Krista Magnifico Hello,
There seems to be something about either the noise, the color, the characters, etc that bothers or interests him. It only happens on cooking shows? If so I would try to offer toys, lots of exercise and start conditioning him by offering a toy, a fun treat or something he loves when he starts to react to the show. It might also help to start training him to not be so reactive by turning the song all the way down and working on him acclimating to the show without noise, or try to turn the picture down. The point is to gradually keep exposing him to rhe stimuli at very small doses and not react to him when he reacts to it. Often owners worsen the anxiety or issue by yelling or reprimanding their dog. Never reprimand or yell it always makes things worse. And avoiding the tv will not help the situation and it may instead perpetuate it into other shows or even the tv when it’s not on.
Your dog is upset about something wrt the tv or that show help him work through it so you can both go back to enjoying your favorite tv shows.
Please also ask your vet for a positive reinforcement trainer. Often they will pick up on clues and provide tips you aren’t recognizing or understanding.

I do not know what is wrong but if there is ever any sign of having trouble breathing it should be considered an emergency and you should go immediately to a veterinarian.

we were told she is to smart for them…
at 4 months she new Sit, Stay, Come, Lye Down, Leave it and go fetch…
so i dont know why she still goes crazy and jumps on me, she bites hard and goes CRAZY…
She listens sometimes but we think that she may have established that i am only her playate what do u think? -
Anonymous First things first: She’s a puppy! Puppies are CRAZY.
Have you gone through obedience training classes with her? I strongly suggest them…they help build the bond with your puppy, and will absolutely help you get her to focus on you.

Phil Richardson I have been watching that very same behaviour now the trainer in this case says that she goes mad and causes chaos because she might a not now how to interact properly with other dogs as when u were told your pups to clever did that end the socilazing with other animals and there owners ..do u walk or interact much with other dogs on your walk has she been on a pack walk with u and other dogs also if she is on a leash if you are not calm when meeting other people or other dogs your fears and tension is put straight on your dog as dogs thrive off our energy we are projecting u have to be calm and have the leash slack

Anonymous That trainer has no idea what they’re doing, then. Look elsewhere. If need be, do a Google search for dog training clubs in your area.
She’s a puppy – she thinks *everything* is her playmate. Be gentle but firm when you redirect her. I left a leash on my puppy when she wasn’t crated – it made corrections easy.
One thing a lot of folks do is train an incompatible behavior. So when she goes to jump, have her sit instead. Or have her get you a toy.

9/23/16 2 yr old Maltese has IVDD and has a cervical issue. We didn’t take him to the neurologist, but chose to treat with medication. He was paralyzed is all but one front leg. Never lost deep pain. It’s been two weeks of crate confinement and he is much better. He can sit and has even stood a couple of times.
My question is, how long does he need to stay confined in a small space? Do i let him try to stand?

Krista Magnifico It is important to get experience in a vets office. In US schools it is mandatory. I recommend that you volunteer with a vet and over time ask these questions. Good luck
You should call a veterinarian and bring the kitten in to have it checked right away. Depending on how old the vet estimates it is, will let you know what and how to feed it properly, it will allow you and the vet to know what condition the kitten is in and line you up for proper/necessary immunizations. Best of luck!
Kittens should be active eating and playful (age dependent). If they are not it should be considered an emergency and you should seek immediate veterinary assistance. Kittens are very fragile. Do not hesitate or wait I hope he is ok.
