I have a pug terrier mix who is very sweet and loving. But, we have a golden retriever in our neighborhood and whenever our dog sees him whether it is through a window or out and about in the neighborhood, he attacks and goes completely insane! One time when I tried to pull him away he even tried to bite me. It is completely out of character for my dog and he is only this way around this particular dog. What is the next step I should take?

My lab is 10 and I’m pretty sure it’s arthritis but I don’t get paid till wed
He is always out by us and like to be around us but is basically mean if you touch him at all. Or sit in his chair that he sleeps on about 50%of the time that he sleeps.

Anonymous do you play with him? my boy used to attack my ankles, back when i first brought him home. turned out he was bored. got a bunch of interactive toys and started playing with him and he mellowed out nicely.
this is, of course, assuming that he’s clear of any medical issues. he’s been to the vet recently, right? 🙂
nsaids are safe and effective pain relief for dogs ? i read that ,please verify ? i would be sick if i caused this sweet, loyal friend more pain.Bay is a black lab.approx 7 yrs old.80ish lbs.
My dog has recently consumed Waggin Trail Chicken Jerky treats and now she keeps puffing with every shallow breath she takes, trembling, non stop walking around, and looks lethargic, I cannot afford to take her to vet. HELP PLEASE

Anonymous unfortunately you’re going to need a vet, and fast. consider Care Credit? it works like a credit card and is interest-free for a year.

Anonymous the brand mentioned has been fatal for a number of pets in the US. i would be more inclined to say the dog has been poisoned rather than experiencing bloat.
My dog is a 45 lb. German Shepherd mixed with American Terrier 7 year old suffering from something that I don’t know. This started about 4 months ago and has progressed to the point to where he constantly needs a cone on. He cobstantly agressivly licks his underbelly to the point where it has become raw and leathery.at times the area is red and swollen and others its is just leathery looking. Sometimes the area is moist and has a foul odor.recently he has started scratching his nose to the point to where he bleeds and when he is pet he favors those ares.please refer tot the pictures I have included. The vets gave him steroids and antibiotics buy that didn’t seem to help.We have also changed his food as recommended by the vet but nothing changed. the skin scrape of the area also came back negative for bacteria and mites. It sucks that I don’t know what the cause is, please help.

Dawn Ferara, DVM Jeff,
This is a fairly common problem. Behavior modification and picking up the droppings is a non-medical way of fixing this issue. However, there is a medication available from your vet which you feed to your dog and it makes the feces taste bad so your dog will not want to eat the feces.Good luckDr Dawn -
Brett Raio Thank you Dr. Dawn, I want to make his poop taste so bad, he doesn’t even want to poop anymore, especially not inside the house. Not to the point where he explodes lol but to the point he holds it in until he gets outside then doesn’t eat it because it tastes really good. And because he likes doo doo, he mustn’t like poopies. Thank you. ~ My name is Jeff.

yusaimi batista i called my vet and he informed me that as long as he was eating and drinking he should be okay because he poop all the worms that he had and thats probably why hes feeling like he had no energy to give him a couple of days until he gets his energy back i also told the vet that i would like an xray done what do u think
honestly, i’d talk to a behaviorist about this. they can assess your dog’s behavior firsthand and suggest things accordingly.
