For about 4 months Buster had a swollen toe. As the swelling progressed to a mass that became so large the skin ulcerated and the mass would not stop bleeding. They went to their vet multiple times.
The diagnosis was presumed to be cancer. The only way to diagnose this definitively is with a biopsy. The best way to get a biopsy is with surgery. We spoke about the costs and risks and after a blood work profile and x-rays it was decided to just remove the toe. It is the best way to stop the incessant bleeding, excision is expected to be curative.
Toe amputation was elected.
Here is a video on my first meeting with Buster. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0RKg4dOK20
Surgery was successful. Buster did great!
