Molly has been coming to Jarrettsville Vet Center since 2017.
She presented with the inability to urinate, standing and staring, and she also was vomiting. After a thorough examination, it was determined a cystotomy surgery was necessary.
The surgical specialist was available next day so Molly was dropped off early that day. After being checked in by a Technician, an IV catheter was placed and she was started on IV fluid therapy in preparation for surgery.
The surgery went wonderfully and Molly woke up smoothly with no problems.
At the end of the day, Molly was discharged by a Technician with the Owner, going over all post surgical instructions and answering any questions or addressing any concerns there might be. She was sent home with oral pain medication to help keep her comfortable.
It is typical for a patient to remain hospitalized for 2 to 3 days post cystotomy surgery. This is so they may remain on their IV pain medication to help keep them as comfortable as possible during recovery.
