Oliver came in recently for his Annual Physical Exam and it was recommended that he have his teeth cleaned and polished, along with some tooth extractions as well.
While he was here we also updated his distemper vaccine and collected blood to submit to the lab to ensure Oliver is safe to undergo anesthesia for his upcoming dental surgery.
Lastly, he went home with an antibiotic to start 4 days before the dental procedures. The estimate for the dental was about $800-1200, it all depends on how many teeth we extract.
Oliver came back about one month later to have his dental procedures completed. After being checked in by a Technician, an IV catheter was placed and he was started on IV fluid therapy in preparation for surgery.
Only two incisors needed to be extracted during the procedure. Oliver’s remaining teeth were then scaled and polished. He woke up smoothly and recovered nicely.
At the end of the day, Oliver was discharged by a Technician with the Owner, going over all post surgical instructions and answering any questions or addressing any concerns there might be.
