Monet came in earlier this year to have a few lumps evaluated. During his visit, it was noted that there is significant dental disease with mobile teeth and malodorous breathe. This was the most concerning finding on todays exam.

While he was here we also updated his kennel cough and distemper vaccines.

Blood was collected as well and submitted to the lab to ensure Monet is safe to undergo anesthesia for his upcoming dental surgery.

Lastly, he went home with an antibiotic to start 4 days before the dental procedures. The estimate for the dental was about $800-1200, it all depends on how many teeth we extract.

Monet came back one week later to have his dental procedures completed. After being checked in by a Technician, an IV catheter was placed and he was started on IV fluid therapy in preparation for surgery.

A grand total of 14 teeth needed to be extracted due to advanced decay. Monet’s remaining teeth were scaled and polished. He woke up smoothly and everything was a great success.

At the end of the day, Monet was discharged by a Technician with the Owner, going over all post surgical instructions and answering any questions or addressing any concerns there might be. Oral antibiotics were dispensed to go home with.
