Extractions due to Stomatitis on a almost 13yr old Domestic Shorthaired Cat

Tell Your Story:

Cooper had developed some pretty significant stomatitis. Unfortunately, the only option is typically extracting his teeth to try to prevent flare ups.

Cooper had an IV catheter placed and started on IV fluids. He was induced with Propoflo IV and then intubated for surgery. Cooper was maintained on ISO/O2 at a surgical plane of anesthesia.

Some teeth were extracted due to stomatitis and sutured. An injectable pain killer was administered. Then his remaining teeth were cleaned and polished.

While sedated, Cooper also received a sanitary clip which was requested by owner

Coopers recovery was smooth and routine.

He did not need any medications to go home and was discharged by a technician later that same day.
