Regular Vet Visit

First Puppy Exam, Meet Oakley. This is a story of a new puppy and the veterinary visits they need to start off on the right paw.

Symptoms:

It is my advice that every new pet should be seen by a veterinarian within 3-5 days of purchase/ adoption. Based on the previous records a puppy vaccination, surgical, and behavioral plan can be laid out.

Diagnosis:

Normal first puppy visit. At my clinic puppies are seen by the veterinarian at first puppy visit (typically at 8 weeks old) and at 16 weeks.

Treatment:

A long discussion with the new pet parents is normal for the first puppy visit. Topics included are laying out the vaccine schedule, preventative schedule, puppy training to include; housebreaking, crate training and socialization. We also go over the do’s and don’ts. (like never reprimand, no nose rubbing, only reward the good. always and only be kind.. people decide what a dogs whole life will be in the first few months of raising their puppy. Love and kindness are paramount.

Conclusion:

Oakley is the sweetest, happiest, most outgoing pup ! It is all because he has a family devoted to him and his well being.
