Finn is a 9.5yr old Goldendoodle that has been coming to JVC for his medical care since 2019. During his most recent annual physical exam, it was noted that he had a mass on his right shoulder with the recommendation it be removed.
Finn’s surgery was able to be schedule just a few weeks following his exam. On the day of surgery, Finn was dropped off first thing in the morning with a Technician and taken to the treatment area where he gets prepared for surgery. Firstly an IV catheter is placed in one of his front limbs. Once his catheter has been placed, Finn is moved to a cage temporarily (with a comfy bed of course!) while waiting for his turn in the surgical suite. Also while he is waiting, he will be connected to an IV fluid pump so he can begin receiving IV fluid therapy.
When it was his turn, Finn was gently moved to the surgical suite where his surgical sites get shaved and sterilized in preparation for the surgery to begin. The procedure was straight forward and went smoothly. The mass was removed nicely and closed with suture. Following his mass removal, the dental team takes their spot in surgery and deep cleans and polishes Finn’s pearly whites.
After the dental portion of his procedures were completed Finn was returned to his pre-surgical bed to be recovered from anesthesia by a Technician.
Finn’s owners were contacted promptly following the surgeries to let them know he did wonderful and when they can plan on coming to pick him up today.
When his owners arrived, a Technician went over all of the discharge instructions, any go-home medications, and answered any questions or concerns the owners may have.
