Back in November during his annual exam, it was noted that Jax had dental disease (tartar, gingivitis, gingival erosion, worn teeth). A dental cleaning & polishing with the possibility of extractions was recommended.
Jax was dropped of early in the morning on the day of surgery and after being checked in by a Technician he was taken to the treatment area to have his IV catheter placed.
Jax began his IV fluid therapy whilst waiting for his turn in the dental chair (table actually, lol). During his fluid therapy, Jax remains under constant supervision by several technicians and doctors.
Jax’s dental was fairly routine with the exception of a single two-root extraction that was required. He recovered nicely and went home later that day after being discharged by a technician. Due to the extraction, Jax was sent home with an oral antibiotic to fend off any lurking infections.
