Butterball and Sweetpea came in to JVC back in January for their annual exams and vaccine boosters. While they were there they also had their blood drawn for lab testing to ensure the are good candidates for anesthesia when they have their spay surgeries.
On the day of surgery they were dropped off first thing in the morning, fasted since the night before at midnight and ready for their surgical procedures. A Technician went over all of the check in paperwork and answered any questions the owner had. After that they were both was taken to the treatment area.
Once in the treatment area, Buttercup and Sweetpea had IV catheters placed by a technician. Following the catheter placement, they were placed in separate comfy cages to rest and begin IV fluid therapy in preparation for surgery.
Both procedures were routine and went smoothly. Buttercup and Sweetpea were maintained on anesthesia during their surgeries and recovered nicely.
Later that day they were both discharged by a Technician, which went over the discharge paperwork and answered any questions the owner had.
After a few weeks of strict rest Buttercup and Sweetpea will be up running around happily and back to themselves in no time!
