Schuyler came in for a routine annual physical examination. During this we noticed that he had a slab fracture of his PM4. This typically happens when does chew hard bones and they sheer off the side of the tooth losing the protective enamel covering of the tooth. This is the largest tooth in the mouth and over time it can lead to infection underr the eye and worsen dental disease.

Schuyler was given pre-op blood work for his dental procedure. This is a difficult tooth to remove and should be done by someone who is proficient and comfortable in the procedure.
Schuyler was placed under general anesthesia and the mouth was examined completely.
While he was under anesthesia we found a large pocket on the left molar. A digital dental xray was taken to confirm the tooth needed extraction.

We extracted two large teeth from Schuylers mouth. The procedure takes time, patience and skill. The entire procedure took almost 3 hours.
