we are also planning on taking him to the vet soon (its 2:50am right now) but I am simply finding anything to do to get him to drink a bit before then.
My cat has decided not to pooh in the litter box. Do you have a list of things that could cause this?

My cat got his hip popped back into place after dislocating it and is in a lot of pain, causing him to avoid eating and drinking. I have gotten him to eat a bit, but still can’t get him to drink anything. We have had them for 9 years now and have only ever given them water to drink. Would it be dangerous if I tried giving him a little bit of milk even though he has never had it and is going about 24 hours now without any liquids?

Hello. I adopted my 12 year old cat yesterday around 8:00 pm, he hasn’t peed or pooped since then. But he is still eating regularly and drinking a bowl a day, also he is still his affectionate self. Should I be worried??

Brittany Foltice Has he tried using the bathroom by going in the litter box but nothing is coming out?

Brittany Foltice I would say that if it has been a while since he has used the bathroom, your best bet is to consult a vet. If he has tried but failed to use the bathroom, there could be some sort of blockage preventing them from using the bathroom. I know with one of my 9 year old cats, he wasn’t able to use the bathroom, and after a bit he would scream in pain when trying. Turned out that he had crystalized urine, very painful but easily treatable with some antibiotics. But even if he doesn’t seem to be trying to use the restroom, it would still be a good idea to consult a vet if it has been a few days simply because if he is drinking and eating normally, it needs to eventually come back out. Better to check early and be all good than to be too late to do anything.
My cat has brown liquid coming out her mouth and she sometimes opens and closes her mouth like she’s eating. She also smells because she’s not able to clean herself. What does it mean?
While I was out my pet dwarf hamster got out of its cage and had an encounter with my dog and now it’s hair is all clumped and one eye is half shut what do I do
He is a 10 week old golden doodle with an approximately 1 day duration of diarrhea and soft stools. Sometimes the stool is pudding like in consistency, other times it’s been firmer at first then got watery at the end. Volume has greatly increased as compared to previous days. No know foreign body ingestion, but it is possible.
Hi, my Puppy was jumping up on me and I went to get her down and think I poked her in the eye? She yelped and had her eye closed for a minute and then seemed ok? Anything to look out for? Thank you!
My cat was taken into the vet yesterday at around 4pm to get checked for a UTI as she has been having some urinary incontinence. We were sent home with Buprenorphine and Maropitant(cerenia) 24mg 4PK For Pain and Nausea.. Since we have been home she has not been wanting to move much or use her hind legs.. when I fed her food she ate it but I am unsure if she has had much water since the fluids the vet gave her.
Is there a reason she is not wanting to use her back legs much and is sitting on her side instead of her butt?

Chelsea McCrone Hi Krista,
I did call our local 24 hour emergency hospital and they said to monitor her for any signs of severe lethargy since her appointment yesterday she has seemed fine.. but when I got back home I noticed that she was not normal and was not sitting or using her back legs properly.
Will continue to monitor her until tomorrows appointment. Do you think it could be because she is in pain?

Chelsea McCrone Okay will do, Thank you so much!

Chelsea McCrone One more thing. Would you suggest me to give her some plain chicken broth and rice until her appointment in the morning or shall I continue to feed her her normal cat food?

Chelsea McCrone Okay I will pick some up after her Urinary Analysis tomorrow morning… Thank you again Krista!
My pet ate garlic powder. What should i do?
I have been feeding him water through a straw to make sure he stays hydrated.
I am getting concerned that he’s not eating; this isn’t like him.
He just tried to use the litterbox but couldn’t go. Probably because there isn’t much food on his belly.
I have given him two tiny portions of a pepcid tablet today, spaced out over the course of the day to hopefully ease his tummy but I don’t think it worked.
Hello, how old is your cat? If it is young, it could still be getting the hang of things. If it is old, then it could be too old to go into the litter box. If it is mid-aged, it could be marking it’s territory. Good luck!
