GOod morning
It’s hard to tell from a photo, but it could be something as simple as a clogged hair follicle or a pimple, which hopefully that is all it is? I would still call the vet and make sure, but try not to stress yourself out over it. Good luck!
Hi. I noticed an angry red lump on my 3-year-old Beagle’s foot, near her claw today. Pretty sure I didn’t see it yesterday. It doesn’t seem to hurt her at all. It’s not soft, but also not rock hard either. It’s not bleeding. She’s not licking it, so I don’t think it itches. She doesn’t have fleas or ticks. Her diet was recently changed from kibble to raw; not sure if it has anything to do with it, but I’ll mention it just in case. She seems to ber her normal self, NO vomitting / diarrhea / weakness. Brought her to the vet, and she was given 3 shots: dexamethasone, viccillin, and amoxicillin, and we were told to watch for the bump for the next few days. I’ve been surfing the web, and I think the bump could be histiocytoma orrrrr (God forbid) a mast cell tumor / mastocytoma. We live in Indonesia, and in the city we’re in, vets don’t really have labs where they perform tests and such. I’m losing my mind thinking about what my dog could possibly have. Please help if you’ve experienced a similar case. Pic attached.

I have a 1year and four month old chihuahua mix. She is 8 lb full grown, not over weight, and eats a grain free natural diet. Last night as I was petting her, I noticed this red bump. I am scared to death and am going to make a vet apt when they open today, but for now…anyone know what this bump could be? It is red, moveable, topical (doesn’t feel like it is attached to deep tissue at all), and is not causing pain. She is eating and drinking normally. should I be worried? Anyone have any ideas as to what it may be?

My 6 year old shar pei/golden retriever mix has a mysterious bump on her lower leg. It appeared out of nowhere on Jan 1. She doesn’t seem bothered by it, it just looks like a pink bump really. I took her to the vet who took one look (barely a look at all because it had all of the fur covering it) and said it was either a cyst that maybe was a little infected or a pappilloma. She said to put neosporin and aloe vera on and cover with a sock daily. I have done that for more then a week and the bump looks the same (I trimmed the hair to get a better look). Do you think I should be concerned or push for a further look or is something like this just that easy to diagnose as she seemed to think?
I have a male German Shepherd Dog( 3 years old). He has recently developed a few red bump(with dark pigmentation on the top) around the center of his belly. They cause him no discomfort or anything. They are about 5mm wide and 3-4mm high in size . I am wondering if that is something I should worry about.
Bleeding Histiocytoma
Last August, I took my dog to the vet because she had a bump that kept coming and going. The vet cut into it and found it nothing to worry about. Now, the bump has persistently been there for about 3 months. It is hairless, hard, about the size of a quarter and hasn’t seemed to bother her. Yesterday, I noticed a small scab. Today, the scab covers the whole bump and she has been trying to itch it. Is this normal? How can I help her?

My dog has a raised bump next to his penis and it’s sunken in in the middle with a black center. His penis is also swollen and he bites at it a few times a day like he’s gonna rip it off. What could it be?

Brina Cole So I took him to the vet this morning and it’s a inverted nipple it just looks strange and he irritates it himself when he chews on it but no harm. And as for the irritation it’s just from him pretty much playing with himself as he grows threw puberty he’s just very aggressive with himself and irritates his skin. They said he should grow out of it and everything else is fine.t thank you again for your advice..
My puppy was spayed 6 days ago and 2 days post-spay, we noticed a red bump the side of my thumb just above the incision. It grew throughout the day and then the next day, it seemed to have leaked through an unhealed part of the incision. Not knowing what it was, we brought her to the vet and were told that it seemed that she had an infection…her incision was quite enflamed. We were given an antibiotic that we are currently still giving twice a day. After that, the bump shrank…and after then, if we’d push on it, it would leak through…very pink and watery fluid. Now at nearly a week after surgery, the bump is back(same size…like a thumb print), but now that the incision has healed, it no longer is drainable… What could this be? I was thinking an abcess(which is what I assumed the vet thought), but it was never filled with pus, just very watery.
Should I take her back to the vet to get it checked out or is this something that may resolve on its own and I’m just overreacting…?
I included the image from day 3 when it burst and then today, day 6.

My German shepherd, Butch, developed a bump on his eye this morning, literally in the span of about an hour. We had our regular morning routine, which consists of a walk and lots of cuddles for the dogs. I know he did not have anything on his eye then. We brought my oldest down to the bus at 6:50, and he did not have anything on his eye then either. When we brought my two younger kids down to the bus, I noticed he had a sort of angry, red pimple above his eye. I cleaned it off with warm water as soon as we got back up from the bus stop and it sort of “popped” a bit as soon as I put the warm compress on it. It was a bit of clear fluid/blood, but not that much. A little bit on the paper towel, that’s it. It has not gotten any bigger at all today, has not drained at all and does not seem to be bothering him. Any thoughts as to what it could be? I’m thinking if it is still there in the morning that I’ll be bringing him into the vet to make sure it isn’t anything serious. I’ve uploaded a few photos, but they aren’t very clear. It really looks more like a pimple than the photo shows.
My cat, Mitsi, is 18 years old. She doesn’t have any signs if the urinary tract infections or lumps or bumps. She has no problem going in her litter box though occasionally she trips and pees when she is getting in the box (it’s only 4 or 5 inches high).
To be more specific with her scratching, she has done it for years but now she screams and pees when she does it.
She’s peeing on everything now and a couple times a day, I don’t know what to do anymore.
My family doesn’t have enough money to take her to the vet and due to her age they probably wouldn’t let me, but thank you for any help!
She has no problem eating or drinking and she pukes every once in a while as she’s always done. Besides the scratching and peeing , she’s just like she’s always been.

My 1 year old dog got spayed a month ago and just last week I saw two small fluid-filled bumps right on her spay incision. Im pretty sure they are seromas. I have tried restricting her activity for days but she can be a very hyper dog. One of the seromas is leaking clear-ish fluid and Im freaking out as I dont know if it is a big concern or if I should take her to a vet?
Just incase I cant get into my vet – what should I do to treat this? And how do I know if this is infected?
Hello,
I would ask your vet about your concerns. I would also prepare for all of the skin lesions you are concerned about. Typically in cases like these I give my patients a few weeks to see if it resolves. If not I do a punch biopsy to submit for pathology through a veterinary diagnostic lab. If it gets larger ask your vet to remove it. It is small enough to allow many options at this point. Best of luck. Please let us know.
Hi Krista, thanks for your response. The bump has become smaller, drier, and much darker (like a healed wound), and I take that as a positive sign. Unfortunately, I have yet to find vets in my city that do biopsies or any kind of lab tests at all (not that she needs one right now that the bump has gotten better). I will still be on the lookout but am much less worried. Thank you again.
