She Is Quidding When She Eats (even Mushy Food) And Even When She’s Not Eating…

She is quidding when she eats (even mushy food) and even when she’s not eating, so looks like she has something wrong with her mouth. We thought it was un chewed food that made her sick, but even feeding other food like pate cat food that’s mush (similar to mince fish-no chunks) still makes her sick. she’s painfully thin and really not her self. its like she’s got a stomach problem and a mouth/teeth/throat problem.

I would definitely seek a second opinion or a veterinary internist.

I Gave My Cat A Canned Green Bean This Morning And I Was Thinking He…

I gave my cat a canned green bean this morning and I was thinking he wanted The juice from the bottom. Not thinking I seasoned it with garlic pepper seasoning. I don’t think he got anything but I don’t know. He’s been super sleepy all day. How do I treat this without a vet? I don’t have a vehicle to take him to the vet!

are you certain this is pain?  cats tend to hide when they’re hurting.  what does your vet say?

Hi Dr. Magnifico. We Brought Boogie, Our DSH Tuxedo Cat In To See You Nearly…

Hi Dr. Magnifico. We brought Boogie, our DSH tuxedo cat in to see you nearly two weeks ago for what we suspected was a sprained leg. You didn’t think that was the case, but recommended us to crate him for two weeks, which we have been doing.
When we were there, you spoke to my husband and myself about how much food to feed our overweight cats (we have 6 cats, all overweight).
Since seeing you, we switched to Science Diet “Perfect Weight” Adult Dry, Chicken Recipe, from the “9 Lives” that we were feeding them. They love the Science Diet dry food we are feeding them now.
We also tried several of the Science Diet wet foods, with all our cats, and they want nothing to do with any of them.
It looks like we are going to have to stick with “Fancy Feast” for the wet food, but we are going to stop giving them the “Fancy Feast” gravy recipes, which was their favorite.
My question to you is, since the “Fancy Feast” wet foods come in small 3 oz cans, how many 3 oz cans per day, per cat?
Thank you so much!
Terri

Thank you for your quick reply!
I do not see Boogie limping anymore, so I think he is good to go, but we are going to keep him in the crate until the two weeks is up, which is Wednesday morn. I know he is looking forward to freedom again, indoor only freedom, that is!
As far as the food, we will give each cat 2- 3oz cans per day and will do our darndest to cut back on the dry food too. It will be a drastic change for them and I know they will be driving me crazy for a while.
I was reading somewhere the other day, to cut back slowly if they are fed a lot, that that could cause health problems too, if I cut back drastically.
We did talk about dentals, but we can only afford one cat at a time, and probably two cats a year. Would like to start with Boogie and I think you said they must see you before I take the next step and talk to someone else about dental. Who is it that I need to call to set up Boogies dental appointment? I will do that asap.

Does that mean I can go ahead and set up an appointment for him now? He did not actually have a full physical from you, I don’t think, or am I mistaken? Who is it that I need to call to set up Boogies dental appointment? Thanks again!

Wish I had gotten a reply to my last questions on this thread. I have no idea if Boogie had what is considered a physical while there and if we can go ahead and make an appointment for his dental.

Hope Dr. Magnifico Is Reading This Message Soon As I Do Not Know What To…

Hope Dr. Magnifico is reading this message soon as I do not know what to do. I noticed one of my cats, Dexter, attempting to pee on a cardboard box outside of the litter box. When I approached him he moved only to go to another area and attempt to pee. Having male cats blocked before or with UTI, I knew to keep watch on him. He was laying down and let me brush him for a while and acting okay. I then took a moist tissue and just patted his pee/butt area and a dried piece of poo came off. I thought yeah… that may be the problem because he immediately went to the litter box. After about 5 minutes he left the box without going to the bathroom. Should I take him to the emergency room or could it wait until you open in the morning. If you think I need to take him, which one do you recommend the most. Thanks Sandy Brown

What happens when the cat catches a mouse, even if the mouse are poised? I can’t stop the cat but I also don’t want anything to happen to my cat.

It’s not common to find a poisoned mouse, whether it lives inside or outside. Your cat is most likely meowing because everything is new to him, and he’s probably anxious, getting used to everything. Don’t worry, there’s not a serious problem. If your cat had caught and eaten a poisoned mouse, your cat would probably not meow at all and wouldn’t eat or drink. It’s most likely because he’s in a whole new place around new people and new smells, and is probably just anxious. He will get used to it and calm down eventually. 🙂

Okay good thank you. So he seen a mouse and was throwing it around but I also think he killed it so I took it and threw it out. I’m just scared my cat will get sick from biting or messing with the mouse. Do you have any suggestions?

Just keep a close eye on him, make sure he doesn’t start acting any differently (e.g. sudden loss of appetite, lethargy, vomit, etc.) and if you notice anything odd or unusual or that something’s changed, you should see a vet.
