unfortunately, urinating blood means he may have crystals or a blockage and this can be life threatening.  can you contact your vet and work out a payment plan, or maybe look into Care Credit?  this is something that needs to be resolved immediately, with no delays.

  2. Cheryl Cornell

He is urinating a real good amount to. I live in Rhode Island do you know of any organizations or vets that might be able to help?

  3. Anonymous

well, i would call YOUR vet first and discuss the problem. they’re the ones who have a working knowledge of your cat (they DO see your cat annually, right?) and are the best place to start.

  4. Cheryl Cornell

I have his vet in Warwick but they well not see him on an IOU

  5. Anonymous

ask them for suggestions on where else you can go, or organizations that can help with cost deferral…and seriously, investigate Care Credit. it’s basically a credit card, and the first year is interest-free.

  6. Cheryl Cornell

So I just went online and applied for care credit and contacted the aspca waiting to be contacted hope they call soon don’t want anything bad happening to my baby

  7. Anonymous

good luck, Cheryl. i hope you can get him help.

  8. Cheryl Cornell

He was diagnosed with a UTI and given amoxicillin and luckily he didn’t have any blockage they said he was pretty empty that he was urinating enough but that if he isn’t better soon they would like to do blood work its a shame how much money vets want just to walk in the door.

i’m so glad you took him in, and i’m so glad you got a diagnosis!

I got this 1.5 months old persian female kitten yesterday.
1- She only took cows milk for the first time during day and did vomit at night.
2- Today she took nothing, except water (only small quantity) and did not go to litter box whole day.
3- She is very slow and almost sleeping whole day.
4- I tried to force feed her milk and cat food, she immediately did vomit.
What should i do now? Its public holiday next 3 days no vet is open.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but cow’s milk is REALLY BAD for cats of all ages. Most cats are lactose intolerant, and I’d say the same for your kitten. Don’t try to force feed her, take her to the vet ASAP. I really hope she feels better, though.

  2. julie brader

You need to take her to an emergency Vet without delay, your kitten sounds to be very ill. Cows milk is not good for kittens of this age she needs kitten milk. Shes also too young at 1.5 months to be away from her mum. Please stop force feeding her cows milk and food it may be that causing her to be ill….take her to an emergency Vet.

How Do I Stop My Cat Peeing And Pooping Outside The Box?! I Have Tried…

are you absolutely sure this isn’t a medical issue?  when was his last checkup at the vet?

  2. Glynis Sakowicz

In my experience, that usually means one of two things. I have a very ‘neat’ cat. If the litter isn’t totally clean, he would register his complaint by pooping just in front of the box as if to say, “I refuse to use an unclean box!”

I have also seen cats who are in multiple cat, or cat and dog homes to feel ‘trapped’ in their box and very nervous about using it. In that situation, I moved the box to a more open area, and made sure the cat had an area where the dogs couldn’t reach him. Once he had an area all his own, and he felt safe using the box, the problem disappeared, but as you know, each cat has their own temperament, and their own personality, so your cat could simply be driving you nuts because it wants to!

Cats however, are very clean animals, and once given a ‘better choice,’ will often take that choice, good luck!

He was at the vet not more than a month ago, we had him desexed at that time and he had a full check up! He’s been doing it since before the vet as well. Asking the vet, they only suggested the things we’ve tried. Moving the boxes, Urine off, different litters, different placement :C he doesnt like minty smells or lavender so we put that scent on the places he likes to go.

No UTI’s or any unusual stresses for him…

Hes such a lovely cat otherwise, very loving and playful

  4. Sonya Payr

Thanks for all the help guys!

Ill keep trying :c I hope its nothing serious. We’ve scheduled another vet appointment and Ill try changing his diet! I just assumed the food was good because he loved it!

Ill let everyone know how it goes 🙂

  1. julie brader

Hello Branden, your cat needs to be seen by a Vet. Whatever the bite was its now swollen and no doubt infected.

He needs Veterinary treatment to get the swelling and infection under control and heal.

    I hope he recovers soon.

  2. Branden Johns

Thank you, I was really hoping for some home remedies though. My family and I just moved to a different state and we dont really have the funds to take him to see a vet right now unfortunately.

  3. julie brader

There really are no home remedies unfortunately. He probably needs antibiotics only available from a Vet.

  1. Diedra Cardamone

Hello Chelsea.  How was it determined that your dog is allergic to the cat?  I have not heard of this before.

    Diedra

  2. Chelsea Morgan

We went to the vets and they said because of her having rashes and itching all off the time. Also because it is only where the cat has been near her, so she is allergic to my cat and I really dont want to get rid of my cats hes lovely and ive had him since a kitten

  3. Lisa Pfab

I would wonder if the dog is eating cat food that he may be allergic to.

I would think that she is allergic to food or something else.  I would make sure the dog cannot get to the cats food, or the litterbox
