My 6 month old malamute broke out in a rash a few weeks ago and is now losing hair and itching a lot. Does anyone have any idea on what it can be? Or any remedies? I have low income so going to the vet is a last resort.

Well my pup is going on five months now, he’s been desexed and had all his needles ect. and he’s a healthy happy boy. However, he has always been an inside dog due to the fact when he was a little guy he was very unwell. We are now moving to a bigger house with a large yard (he’s a cattle dog) and we are hoping for him to become an outside dog. However the problem is we’re having trouble convincing him to be an outside dog 😉
Hes currently being put in the garage with his bed, toys and clothing of ours, we have a clock in there and he has his own radio to keep him company. However, for the last two weeks he will not stop crying, whining, howling, batting at the door loudly and barking. Fortunately, he cries a bit when we put him in at night, and mainly sleeps through the night but as soon as he hears the birds which is like (3 am or 4 am) he won’t stop carrying on from then.
Its driving us crazy, we aren’t getting any sleep and neither is he. It makes us much less approachable in the morning when we get him out. We have started leaving him in there when we go to university and the shops during the day and he continues to do the same thing. We have tried everything, we have ignored him and turned to some smacks on the bottom but nothing is working!
Please if you have any advice, we are willing to try anything!

honestly, he wants to be with his family…unless you have some pressing NEED for him to be outside, let him stay in. in fact, i’d crate him away from windows and give him some sort of radio in the room so he doesn’t hear the birds.
as for the rest of his carrying on…he sounds BORED. what do you do with him when you’re home? are you actively training him? if not, you need to start.
Laura and Dr Krista are correct – he wants to be with his family! A 5-month old puppy cannot entertain himself and neither can an adult dog without a job. Show him that outside is a wonderful, fun place to be by being out there with him and playing games. End the game before he is bored with it and then go inside. Once he is an adult, will he have cattle to herd? If not, he can get into all sorts of trouble outside alone out of boredom.
Please stop smacking him! He won’t understand why you are hitting him. He needs to be shown how you want him to behave and it will take dedicated work on your part. Find out how long he can stay in his kennel without starting to whine, even if it is just 30 seconds. Put him in his kennel, go out of sight and return before he starts to whine. They praise, praise, praise! Have a party – what a good, smart boy you are! Continue to do this, gradually extending the separation time.
What could be the problem and what do I need to do? I know he can’t make it not peeing. He has pooped tho and it wasnt hard it was soft. He isnt playful today he been just laying around. I can tell he dont feel good.
If anyone can give me advice plz do. I’m in a pannick cause I’m helpless. He is one of my children.

Both of my cats have been experiencing diarrhea. The older one has yellow diarrhea and the kitten has trouble getting to the bathroom on time. I’m not sure if it’s because of the food or because they are in contact with other outside cats.
They are also still very active and show no signs of being sick. I feed and water them when ever I see that there bowl is running low

My cats were strays so they used to be outside. I just rescued my kitten recently so my cat might have gotten something from him. I don’t think I’ll be able to afford a vet because I don’t have a job. But I’ll try to feed them healthier cat food and if that doesn’t help all I can do is try to find them a home that can provide for them.
vets opinion is cancer tumor but diagnosis will cost heaps and if it is cancer nothing could be done due to location. i have been prescribed pain killers which i give her daily. however a new development has me confused, she has started to bleed a little bit from the mouth at the affected area can a tumor bleed? . should i get antibiotics for an abscess ? she deserves to be comfortable but i can not afford untreatable cancer diagnosis

What is wrong with her? She also has had lots of big fat tumors pop up on her, not sure if the two are related.

hello,my dog is 13 yrs old and diabetic. he suddenly starting urinating and defacating uncontrollably. he got a blood test and his blood sugar is 23. the vet thinks maybe it is UTI so he gave antibiotcs but if it doesnt,what do i do?
depending on breed, 13 is pretty old for a mid-to-large dog. Hopefully, the antibiotics will help. Your vet probably has also suggested to keep him on a bland diet for the poop issues – boiled chicken, white rice. With him being diabetic, go easy on the rice to make sure you don’t spike the blood sugar.

My cats eye has been discharging and shut off and on for few days. Is it safe to use the neomycin and polymyxin B ointment I have? Allergic reactions?

recently I had started to notice one eye was truly blind after getting more and more cloudy over this last winter. for the last 2 weeks it has been looking like it’s bloody around the orb of the eye and protruding some what and now for the last 2 days I have seen a oval shape in the center that looks like infection and like the eye is dead and or infected on the way dying if I was to guess. I am so worried for him. I have no funds and DO NOT want to be ignorant and hurt him or kill him when there may have been something to be done and help…. please and thank you. He’s well taken care of. He’s also up to date on all his shots. He’s my baby. The only reason I’m saying the vet is a last resort is because I’m only 18 and I lost my car. I’m in the process of getting another one. If anyone has any information that can help please do.
without a cause for the rash, no one can really give you a cure. you could try a small dose of benadryl (google the dosage), but you’d need to know what caused it to prevent it from returning.
