i am not an expert, but i think you should take him to vet immediately
My 3 month old kitten has diarrhea and can’t control when it goes. The only other animals it has been around is our puppy but he is not sick. What can I do to stop the diarrhea
My puppy went on a short, hot hike yesterday. Today he is very lethargic and lays or sits down every chance he gets. There is no vomit, diarrhea, discolored tongue/gums, and he is eating and drinking. Should I worry about the lethargy?

When we arrived home from work, there was a grease can in the living room he had gotten into. Unless it is a major coincidence, we believe that he ingested who knows how much. Are these symptoms normal for grease ingestion in a small dog? He has had no diarrhea at all, and only vomited one time. The other times he is dry heaving it kind of sounds like he is wheezing

MY cat has been sick for 5 days with a fever. No vomiting no diarrhea except for a little on the second day. He has a fever, he’s drinking a lot, lethargic, not grooming. I took him to a vet who gave him something for the fever and an antibiotic shot. He’s eating and drinking which is good but the fever is not going down. The vet prescribed Fevadol which has paracetamol in it. We are in a country with no good vets and no real access to pet medication, but everything I have read says that paracetamol is poisonous to cats. I would give anything for him to get better, but there are no vets that I trust here and I am so confused on what to do. He’s obviously fighting an infection but the vet said he doesn’t seem to have a URI, he has no signs in his chest and no discharge from eyes or nose. I just don’t know what to do and it’s breaking my heart watching him in pain. please help.
He’s a 4 year old male.

Dawn Ferara, DVM Normally I would tell you to follow the doctor’s instructions but it seems paracetamol is acetometaphin which is very toxic to cats!!! However, without examining your cat it is impossible for me to really give you any advice. My recommendation is to try and find a vet you trust because your cat needs treatment.
Good luck

D A Thank you for your response. I know he needs treatment, I am very scared for him, but as I said there are no reliable vets here. Is there something over the counter that could bring down his fever?
-
Dawn Ferara, DVM No there really isn’t.
My dog has sudden diarrhea? Is there any remedy? Im thinking the cause us the rapid change in food

PK Dennis Diarrhea is the body’s way of removing toxins. One or two bouts of diarrhea is not anything to worry about or to try to remedy – I think recovery. Fasting is always my first reaction to diarrhea – you want the gut to clear and rest (12 hours per Dr. Krista’s recommendation). I encourage fluid intake (offer lots of fresh water, give ice cubes if he/she likes to lick them, I will even add a little broth to the water if I don’t think they are drinking enough).
Probiotics are always good to aid recovery.
I have a 5/6 week old kitten who, in the last few hours, has had 4 episodes of diarrhea and 1 episode of vomiting. Other than those things, she is behaving as normal. Should I be concerned?
My puppy is vomitting and have a diarrhea what should i do?
She is a 2 year old pure pug. She is up to date with her vaccinations and has had diarrhea for about 2-3 days. This afternoon she pooped that white slimy liquid and I’m concerned now and I would like to know how to help her.
My dog had emergency surgery on Tuesday to remove an obstruction from his small intestines. He was discharged on Friday afternoon. He had 2 small bowel movements that afternoon – both were diarrhea or very soft. He is eating a bland diet of chicken and rice. He is not vomiting, but he has not had a bowel movement in almost 48 hours. He is also taking tramadol. His surgeon is not in today to answer if this is normal. Should he be taken into the emergency vet?

Anonymous i BELIEVE gastroenteritis is something a dog can survive but you need to change his diet drastically. what do you normally feed him? have you asked your vet what food you should be feeding?
-
Alexandra Cristian Stefan the food is royal canine ,i am relly worry for him i don’t want him to die,he is still in the vet clinic with the fluids
-
Alexandra Cristian Stefan yesterday he has surgery for the stomac to see if he has eating a toy or something not good, and he find out he has gastroenteritis thanks to talk with me
-
Anonymous hmm. that’s odd…i don’t believe Royal Canin should be causing gastroenteritis.
beyond this, i don’t know if I can help you. i am not a vet and i am not a nutritionist. but talk with the vet about what could have caused this and how to avoid it in the future.

Alexandra Cristian Stefan i dont want him to die
Yes, I would worry – give your vet a call, explain your concerns and see if they can get you in to see the doctor for a few moments.
Thanks. I did call my vet, but based on the normalcy of everything else he wasn’t concerned and figured he was exhausted from the hike. Better safe than sorry!
It is good that you had the conversation – you are right about safe/sorry!
