Not good! You should get him to a vet for an X-ray to determine if he did indeed eat the battery. There is corrosive material inside batteries that could cause a lot of tissue damage inside if the battery starts to leak or the battery itself could cause an obstruction. Sometimes you can look in their mouth & see where there are mouth sores from the battery- there could be sores on the tongue, inside of cheeks. Your dog should see a vet ASAP to ensure he is safe from the acid & an obstruction.
Today out of the blue my 7 year old female Collie starting limping and it has gotten worse throughout the day.
She isnt in pain or distress and is not off her food, just unable to put weight on her front left paw.
Its been about 8 hours now and shes gone from being able to put a little weight on it to walking on only 3 legs.
Im thinking it could possibly be a bee sting but was looking for advice????

My dog cut her foot. It’s beyond super glue. I don’t know what to do. Taking her to the vet is out of the question. I have no money this week. My boyfriend has taken care of dogs his whole life. His family was breeders. He is going to caulderize the wound. He isn’t off work yet. What can I do to help her stop bleeding?
My 7yr Beagle has a sore on his back leg about as round as a pencil eraser and is drooling a lot. What could cause this ?

julie brader Hi Elaine, perhaps a bite? Could toxin from it have got into his system? Thats just a wold guess from your description of his symptoms. Maybe you should pop him to your Vet for a firm diagnosis and the correct treatment.
Good luck!

Dawn Ferara, DVM Ok I’m really not sure with your description what is actually wrong with your dog. I recommend a vet visit to see if the 2 symptoms are related.
why is my dog vomiting yellow fluid that is not foamy?
She is quidding when she eats (even mushy food) and even when she’s not eating, so looks like she has something wrong with her mouth. We thought it was un chewed food that made her sick, but even feeding other food like pate cat food that’s mush (similar to mince fish-no chunks) still makes her sick. she’s painfully thin and really not her self. its like she’s got a stomach problem and a mouth/teeth/throat problem.
our 13 week old puppy threw up for the first time today and is feeling very lethargic now. It looked like only dog food. He was excited after meeting some girls. is this normal?
He acts like a normal six week old puppy other than the red poop. He plays a lot while awake and sleeps quite a bit throughout the day and drinks plenty of water.

Anonymous yes, the dyes in lower end dog food like kibbles and bits will affect stool color.
please don’t feed a medium breed dog puppy food for small breeds. the nutrient amounts are incorrect for your puppy and can cause health problems. try to feed something that has no corn and has meat for the first two or three ingredients.
i would also wonder why you have a puppy 2 weeks early. puppies should not leave their mother and littermates prior to 8 weeks of age. is there any way you can take your puppy back to the breeder for 2 more weeks?

Alesha Pearce The food was just a quick fix the store I had to go to only had adult food no puppy food i figured small breed would work for a couple days because he is young until I was able to get a different brand. I didn’t know if I should feed him the adult stuff yet because he’s so small. Is there a specific brand you would recommend?

Anonymous i am a big time fan of Wellness CORE. you’ll feed a LOT less of it than you will kibbles and bits because it’s very nutrient dense.
i’m still worried about her age. have you ever had an underage puppy like this before? is there a reason you brought her home 2 weeks early? depending on where you live, this is a crime…please report the person who sold her to you.
Have A Serious Cut On His Head, But…
Living with together with 2 more others Hamster.

Anonymous i would be worried about fighting between them. are the others male? can you house him separately?
-
Brendon Cheong Vinnten Yes, the other are male. I have separated them earlier. But it’s still the same , what should I do 🙁

Anonymous well, i’m not a vet, but i’d be worried about serious injuries. hamsters should never be housed together – they’re a solitary species – and when house together will often fight until one is dead.
Firstly, I would beg to differ about the pain; there is a limp because there is a pain. Now, a limp in a front leg can be for a long list of reasons, sting could be one of them. Foreign body in the foot, infection in the foot … is there any swelling? But there could be an injury anywhere else on the leg and there even could be a neck issue resulting in a front leg limp (Jasmine had that).
If you’re comfortable doing that I’d start with a thorough inspection of the foot, toes, nails, looking for any swellings, lesions, nail injuries, foreign bodies … If you don’t find anything on the foot, it could still be the foot (Cookie had a piece of a purcipine quill embedded between the toes which was totally invisible until finally it got pushed out with pus. But it also could be something else all together.
My recommendation is if you don’t find anything obvious, see a vet. If you do find something obvious, you still may need to see a vet.
Dogs express pain very differently than people do and they are not usually big babies about it. If not walking on that foot eases the pain she may have no symptom other than not walking on that foot. Since it’s been getting worse over the past eight hours I suggest you see a vet. Even if you examine her and find the problem it’s very likely she’ll require some kind of treatment even if it’s just antibiotics or antihistamines.
