My Cat Just Had A Litter Of Kittens And I’ve Never Seen This Before But …

My cat just had a litter of kittens and I’ve never seen this before but all of the kittens were born with their eyes wide open, I couldn’t find anything recent on the internet about this, just wondering if anyone knows what could be going on.

    Hello,
Yes it is normal to be born with the eyes closed. But. Like everything kitten related we can’t do anything to change this so we should just make sure mom is kept happy, well fed, and in a quiet peaceful and safe place so she can take the best care of her kittens.

Thanks, Momma is very happy and the kittens seem to be healthy 6 kittens, 5 born with their eyes open, but all alive and healthy momma is taking good care of them, I just wasn’t sure if I should take them to the vet or not

I don’t know if this is a reptile or a dog, but in either case, consider this an emergency and get your pet to the vet.

I Have A Cat 10 Years Of Age, Flash. He Had A Tumor That Was Detected After …

I have a cat 10 years of age, Flash. He had a tumor that was detected after he chewed on his privates and was unable to pee. I took him to the vet and was told they had to remove tumor and his male parts. So after spending about 1500.00, a discount because I also had my other cat that cost 500 for shots and fixing and chipped. After about two months my cat once again had issue peeing. I am now told it will cost another $2000 to do another surgery where they will make a knew opening. I am at ends wit because I can’t do another $2000 when thinking the first surgery was to fix the issue. Was something not done correctly the first time? All I am told is that he heals too fast and the tissue is weak and can’t maintian an opening to pee needing a new one.

    Hello,
I’m sorry but I am not quite sure what is going on here. I think that I would recommend that you get a second opinion from a feline specialist or a vet your friends or family recommend. Or go back to your vet and ask for assistance in exposing what’s going on and why?
I think you need some clarification before making any big decisions. In the meantime you can ask about intermediate palliative care. Please keep me posted on progress and good luck!

Hi, I Just Had A Scare With My Mini 10yo Pomeranian, Diagnosed With CHF Heart Murmur 5/6, …

Hi, I just had a scare with my mini 10yo Pomeranian, diagnosed with CHF heart murmur 5/6, but went to the cardiologist and said she has grade 2 murmur, no CHF, but mitral valve disease… During this whole thing, I noticed a bump on her nipple, and mentioned it to the vets, but wasn’t worried enough cus there was so much going on w her heart. Now that we got that cleared up w Cardio, I’ve caught my breath but am even more anxious to think she has Pyometra. I’ve been noticing sticky, red discharge from her vagina for a while now, mentioned it to cardio vet, had no comment. I had mentioned it to her regular ver before, and butt scooching, and they cleaned her anal glands. I am beyond anxious and so scared to lose my baby girl. I have an appointment for her to be spayed, which I was already anxious about due to her age and enlarged heart, but now I feel so hopeless and I’m sorry but I’m having trouble trusting vets… i know I shouldn’t say this but how has no one caught anything… Its a much longer story, I’m sorry. I noticed today a lot more discharge, it used to just accumulate a bit in her vag, but noticed it across her bum today… It was hard to tell at first cus she’s black, but I just don’t know what to do. Should I reschedule spay appointment earlier? Anyone, please help me… Not even sure how this site works… found it online researching Pyo…

photos are kinda graphic, sorry..

    Hello,
I’m very glad to hear that your cardio appointment went so well. Consider that a HUGE win! It gives everyone a huge sigh of relief in everything you do moving forward. As far as the possible pyo goes I would strongly recommend you call your vet ASAP and be seen by them. Schedule her spay based on this exam and your vets concern about whether it meds to be done immediately or whether it can wait for your scheduled surgery date. Abnormal discharge is abnormal. A sick (lethargic, inappetant, or depressed) dog should be seen immediately. We have an old saying in vet med “never let the sun set on a pyo”. Or another words you don’t wait a day to treat! Good luck. Keep us posted.

Are there other symptoms that you are aware of? Has your dog been outside too long in the heat? Was your dog running hard for too long? Is your dog eating and drinking? Are they drinking excessively? Is your dog showing signs of pain? If you’re dog was outside today, he may be showing signs of heat exhaustion. If that is the case, keep him calm and inside in air conditioning. Do not let him stress or exert himself for some time- make sure he drinks water. If there is no improvement, a call to the vet is warranted. If your dog was not outside in this hot weather, then I would call the vet right away as it could be something serious. I hope everything is ok.????????

    Hello,
I’m sorry but there isn’t enough information here for me to direct you confidently. I am worried about a few things like; seizures, pain, disease, and even benign stuff like anal sacs and ear infection. I think it would be best to call your vet to see if they can take a look at your pup.

Ok So This Is A Little Crazy… I Never Imagined I Would See This Day, And …

Ok so this is a little crazy… I never imagined I would see this day, and how I’m having visions of a technological apocalypse. My dog is a video game addict. She literally goes and starts pawing at people’s phones that are left lying about thinking the critters from her game are going to come out to play. I’m 90% decided I shouldn’t let her play anymore because of how much she gets sucked into it. I’m not sure it’s unhealthy but not sure it’s healthy either. Pawbly people what are your thoughts on pet video games and apps like this?

just because people have become obsessed crazed zombie-game players does not mean our pets should too. Doesn’t sound healthy or like she’s happy. Satiated stimuli should include food, attention and behavioral reinforcement of desired reactions.. i think your pup needs a walk and a squeaky toy,,, don’t feed the addiction once you identify she has one.

Hello, 1 Of Our 2 Orphaned Newborn Kittens (6 Days Old Of Age) Started Eating Less The Last 12 Hours. …

Hello,
1 of our 2 orphaned newborn kittens (6 days old of age) started eating less the last 12 hours. Before 3 hours I noticed his right front leg was swollen and took him to vet immediatelly. The vet said it might be broken bone or soft tissue injury but she cant tell or do anything before the kitten reaches 3 weeks. I keep the routine of feeding, cleaning + toilet. Is there anything more I should do?
Thank you

Good morning. I would call the vet right away and let them know about the change in appetite. I would also ask if there is anything at all that you should be doing… rest, for example. I would definitely watch her closely, and make note of any changes at all and call your vet right away if you notice anything.

Thank you, Sarah, for your reply. I had taken him to a vet near me 5 hours ago and the vet said cant do nothing but wait until the kitty gets older to fix his (perhaps) broken leg… Because I see this poor kitty in pain I booked an appointment to another vet for a second opinion 3 hours from now.

I have an 6 year old ridgeback. she had a hernia op two weeks ago. she got discharged three days after the op with drain. another three days later we took her in for a check up and and her vet wasn’t happy with a hard swelling on her abdomen. he discovered that there was a re-herniation and re-sutured. two days later she developed a seroma. she is still admitted at the veterinary hospital. is this normal healing? i am very worried. When i visit her, she is active and happy, eating well and passing stools and peeing well.

    Hello,
I don’t know if I would call it normal. But it’s not uncommon. If you are concerned please express that to your vet. As long as your pet is acting and behaving normally I think it is ok to give them time to heal.

My Bunny’s Legs And Private Area Is VERY Dirty. Whenever People See Her They Comment…

My bunny’s legs and private area is VERY dirty. Whenever people see her they comment about it. The fur is brownish yellowish and it’s her pee that’s stuck. I was wondering if there’s a way to clean her fur and not have it brown? Preferably not one that involves my bunny anywhere near water? We got her like that and it hasn’t left in the year we’ve had her.

    Hello,
I am worried about infection and I wouldn’t wash her without finding a vet to look at her first. Are there any local rabbit groups in your area? I’m concerned about diet, and diarrhea or urinary tract infection. Please don’t treat her without a better understanding of what’s going on with her.

  2. Sarah

    Good morning-
I was curious to see if you had gone to the vet and found out more about Marshmallow?
