We are treating out 12 yr old beagle for IVDD with crate rest, prednosine, and tramadol. His back legs have been paralyzed for 14 days. For the past several days, when I hold him to urinate or massage his legs, I feel jerky movements and trembling. Is this a positive sign or simply his reflexes?
I have gotten a 8month old mountain cur puppy today for free online and the guy said he was good with kids and he was shy at first well my 4 year old son went to go pet her and she bite him and she bite my husband I messaged the guy and told him about it but he said he couldn’t take her back I don’t know what to do?

I would first get to the vet and have the dog checked and inoculated. Then I would enroll in a training class class right away. It sounds like this dog needs structure and socialization asap. Lots of exercise and a behaviorist might also benefit all of you for training and dog behaviors. And also….Please be wary of “free” pets online. Very best of luck to you.
Honestly…the dog MAY have been overwhelmed. There are classic fear periods, and this age is often when the second fear period kicks in. I wouldn’t let your 4 year old anywhere near her right now, and I WOULD get the puppy evaluated by a professional as soon as possible. It’s very likely the previous owner said anything that would work to get the dog out of his hands.

I thought these were moles am I correct? The larger one is on her back and it gets oozy or crusty
It is very hard to tell from a photo. Sorry. I think that you should go to the vet and have them looked at, especially if one is oozing at times.

I agree with Sarah. It is almost impossible to diagnose a mass based on a photo. The one on the back might be (?) a sebaceous adenoma (might??). The one on the eye is not clear enough for me to even guess.
The one on her eyelid seems to go all the way through it. But it doesn’t ooze or cause her any problems. It hasn’t changed at all since I’ve had her.
I left my 8 yr old maltese mix alone for 45 minutes. When I returned she was acting very strange like she was dizzy and afraid of me. She won’t let me hold her and she won’t eat or drink.
Is there a chance that’s she got into anything poisonous (household cleaner, prescription meds, etc…) or can you see any chewed wires around by chance? I would call the vet ASAP.

She isn’t normally very active. She usually just stays on my bed. She loves to go places with me and shes very well behaved.
I had to leave her home tonight for about 45 minutes. When I got home I noticed she wasn’t acting right. Her eyes were kind of big and moving back and forth like she was dizzy. I picked her up and she immediately wanted down. (Not normal)
It’s almost like she’s afraid of me. She’s not a real affectionate dog but she’s always comfortable when I hold her.
Her head and eyes are moving kind of weird. I have a short video. Having trouble uploading it.
She also won’t have anything to do with food or water.
I would worry about a seizure, to be honest. Can you post it to Youtube and share the video from there?

To my uneducated eyes, I’d guess that’s a seizure. Did you call the vet yet??!
I can’t afford to take her. I know you shouldn’t have an animal if you can’t afford one but this dog makes my world go around.
Unfortunately, you may be risking her health if there’s something seriously wrong. Please try to find a way to get her in ASAP…she could have issues with thyroid or blood sugar, something neurological could be going on, or it could be something else.
I will and shes back to her normal self now. Not knowing what happened will make me nuts.

Has a vet examined him? For infection? (I suspect every dog fight dog will get infection from the bite wounds). Has he been examined for possible internal injuries? Has he been given pain medication? I suspect these are all in order before he goes back to eating and feeling better
My dog ate a shoelace tip and I was wondering if it would just pass through her and she would be fine or not also she is still being playful and alert
If it was just the aglet- the little, tiny plastic piece on the ends-it will probably pass. I would just keep a close eye onyour dog and call the vet if you notice any sudden, concerning changes. It’s not glamorous, but you might want to check his stool to see if it passes, just to make sure.

I have a 1year and four month old chihuahua mix. She is 8 lb full grown, not over weight, and eats a grain free natural diet. Last night as I was petting her, I noticed this red bump. I am scared to death and am going to make a vet apt when they open today, but for now…anyone know what this bump could be? It is red, moveable, topical (doesn’t feel like it is attached to deep tissue at all), and is not causing pain. She is eating and drinking normally. should I be worried? Anyone have any ideas as to what it may be?

It’s hard to tell from a photo, but it could be something as simple as a clogged hair follicle or a pimple, which hopefully that is all it is? I would still call the vet and make sure, but try not to stress yourself out over it. Good luck!
I agree with Sarah. Also a bug bite, wound, etc? Dont get too worried. See your vet when you can about it. Also if she isn’t spayed I would inquire about that. That’s a bigger worry for me.
Hi I currently have a beta fish living in a classic fish bowl. I want to get another beta fish but not another bowl. Will two beta fish be compatible in one bowl. Thanks
First off, a bowl is a horrible situation for a betta. They need an actual tank with filtration. Secondly, putting two male betta in a tank together will guarantee the death of at least one of them. They fight. A female is also risky – the most successful situation would be a sorority tank of only female betta.
PLEASE research proper betta care and upgrade your fish’s living conditions.

Please check with your vet. But in general I try to posture them to stand at every instance I can to help them regain muscle mass and strength. I hope it is trembling to regain the nerve function that feeds the muscles to tell them to work. But please confirm with your vet.
