I was giving Bones a bath, and a cat was in the bathroom too. When I was done bathing him, he wanted the cat, so he put his paws on the washing machine and that’s why he has it on his paw. He’s outside right now on a tether. I figure it would rub off by walking on the ground…

a wet washcloth is usually a good weapon against soap… 🙂

  2. Annie Yang-Shaffer

Do you think his walking around outside would be enough, or definitely not?

  3. Hamster Beagles

if it doesnt come off from grass wash it off its not like its gonna burn his or her paw just dont let him lick it

He’s Had A Fecal And They Said It Was Fine. I Can Feel His Backbone…

He’s had a fecal and they said it was fine. I can feel his backbone, ribs, and hip bones. He gets fed daily and water daily. I’m not sure what to do? He won’t gain and he isn’t feeling well today.

surely they’ve done more than just a fecal…have they done any bloodwork?  how much are you feeding, and what food?  how old is he?  i would push the issue with your vet…if he is truly skinny, they should be alarmed.

  2. Dana Willett

No my vet didn’t really do blood work on him. They did a skin scrapping. He came to me with mites. He’s eating blue mountain. I feed him twice a day about a cup of food. He’s 7-8 months old and I’ve had him since November.

  3. Anonymous

i would discontinue the use of Blue Buffalo food. there is a huge lawsuit/settlement going on right now regarding questionable ingredients.

  4. Dana Willett

I’ve never heard about that. It’s one of the top rated diets for all natural food

  5. Dana Willett

What should I be feeding him then? Everyone says blue mountain is top rated because it’s got all natural ingredients.

  6. Dana Willett

I did switch temporarily to a diet from shoprite and was planning on going back to blue mountain food. It’s a 5/5 rating. It’s just very expensive.

i would do a lot more research.

we frequently feed Wellness – CORE to my dog, Complete Health to my cat.
Pulsar by Horizon is a decent brand and can be purchased online.
i tried Nature’s Logic recently and was pleased with it – i will be adding it to my regular rotation
Acana and Orijen are fantastic foods but may be too rich for your puppy.
Annamaet is popular with sport dog owners and is considered a good food – i believe it’s made in Pennsylvania.

  8. Dana Willett

Hm I’ve never heard of that. Where do you get natural logic?

  9. Dana Willett

I don’t believe I’ve seen those brands before o.o. What store did you go to?

  10. Anonymous

i shop online via chewy.com. i have zero complaints buying through this store, and strongly recommend them to others.

  11. Dana Willett

How fast is delivery? Honestly I’m not really a fan of the vet I go to but it’s because of my dad that I go there. He’s stuck in his old ways and I feel like he’d be weird if I wanted to switch. Any suggestions? Does anyone know of any good vets near Bethlehem that aren’t super over priced? I know he won’t go for it if they charge outrageous prices :).

  12. Anonymous

if you’re in PA, 1-2 days. shipping’s free if you set up autoship and their prices are regularly less than that of PetSmart/Petco.

i don’t know vets in Bethlehem, i’m sorry. i’m down in Baltimore.

  13. Dana Willett

Thank you 🙂 I’ll look at it and I made an appointment with a vet 15 minutes from me for tomorrow. It had really good reviews and they said we’ll discuss diet and everything

It does sound like a reaction to his vaccinations.  If he is not feeling better by tomorrow I recommend taking him back to the vet.

I dropped a pitless dried prune and my little Yorky ate it. Is she going to be ok?

She should be fine except it may cause GI (stomach) upset because it’s something different.  My biggest concern is that yorkies tend to be small and an upset stomach could lead to dehydration etc.  So, if she does have an upset stomach (vomiting and diarrhea) more than 1 or 2 episodes I would take her to the vet for treatment.

    Good Luck

Our corgi has some emotional issues we deal with. She hides her head while going on car rides. She is not scared of the vehicle just the movement of the vehicle. When going outside to use the bathroom if any one is outside(neighbors) she will not go in front of them. If it is windy she turns and wants to go back in. Noises inside the house, computers, vacuums. beeping sounds, she will go to her crate to hide.

your dog needs a vet.  he’ll need an antibiotic and probably prescription ear drops.  while there, talk with your vet about preventative measures you can take to avoid this in the future.

2 months is entirely too long.  please get her to a vet today.

  2. Dawn Ferara, DVM

You need to take her to the vet as soon as u can

  3. debra yuhasz

Absolutely get her to a vet! A dog in season does not bleed for 2 months no matter how old she is.
