Hi, does anyone think they know what type of breed my dog is? He’s supposed to be a purebred miniature poodle but I don’t think he is. He has spots all around him, and his tail and size doesn’t look like a miniature poodle. Here’s the pic:

did you buy him from a breeder?  was he registered as a poodle?

i have difficulty with distinguishing the small fluffy companion breeds…i wish i could help ID the dog.

Hi, thanks for replying! I did not buy him from a breeder, we bought him from a puppy store called Dreamy puppy. I don’t think he was registered as a poodle. A lot of people think he’s a bichon frise, I have a hard time telling the difference between the small fluffy breeds too 🙂 🙂 Thanks!!!!!

Ah, that’s a shame…there really is no way to tell unless you want to spend money on one of those DNA tests.

Thank you, just one more question- If you take him to the vet will the doctor be able to tell you or do you have to buy one of those DNA kit test things? Thank you ;>

A vet MAY be able to tell when your puppy is older. Maybe.

My Pug / Boston Terrier Mix Occasionally Chuffs And Huffs Like A Horse With The…

My pug / boston terrier mix occasionally chuffs and huffs like a horse with the heaves. What could be the cause of this? My old Yellow Lab used to do the same thing. Could it be heartworms? He’s 5 yr. old not neutered male in good health

If he is not on Heartworm preventative then your dog could have heartworms.  Why is he not on preventative?  It sounds like it could be a heart problem and he should go to the vet.  A vet is the only one who can diagnose Heartworms or another heart problem.

I Have Been Agonizing Over This For 2 Days Now. Last Monday I Took My…

I have been agonizing over this for 2 days now. Last Monday I took my 14 year old cat to the vet because he had stopped eating and drinking. X-Ray showed what the vet thinks is abdominal cancer. After talking to my vet decided that surgery/chemo would not be an option for me and she prescribed steroids which may help and gave him fluids. He perked up a tad after fluids and would eat maybe a quarter to half a can of wet food a day. Since Friday though I have not been able to get him to eat anything (he did come out and lick the food yesterday but would not eat) and all he does is lay under the computer chair. He will not sleep in the bed with me which is something he has done his whole life. I plan to call the vet first thing tomorrow morning, but was wondering if anyone had any thoughts.

you might try some tuna packed in water to get your cat to eat, I know what your going thru three months ago i had to put my 19 year old down and 2 months later i had to put my other cat down. both of mine had kidney faluer  it,s a hard choice. but try the tuna packed in water, and best of luck.

    Hello,
What do you mean by gurgles? From his mouth? He makes sounds?

I don’t know if it’s from his mouth or his gut. I guess I should have been more specific, by gurgles, I meant when he runs there is this bur ur ur ur ur noise- on every stride. And I know it’s not burping because horses can burp. Thank you for your help! @KellyFurgason

I have a 15 year old quarter horse, and when he trots he make a sort of gurgly noise too, I think its normal

my 3 yr old white german sheperd has suddenly become itchy, mostly around his hind quarters. no known alergies. no evidence of fleas. no dietary changes. what could cause the sudden nusiance itchiness?

Even if you have no known allergies this sudden itchiness could be the result of allergies.  I would recommend a visit to your vet before your dog does some damage to his skin by itching.

    Good Luck

My 9 Month Old Female Miniature Dachshund Was Emitting A Metallic Odor From Her Back…

My 9 month old female miniature dachshund was emitting a metallic odor from her back end yesterday. I noticed it, did some google-ing, and shortly after the smell disappeared. My research concluded that it might be her anal glands. But I can’t understand why the smell disappeared (and as of this morning had not returned). She has exhibited no other signs or symptoms (no scooting on the floor, no problems going to the bathroom, acting perfectly normal)

As the mystery continued, we were walking outside to use the potty before taking a drive. After peeing, we got into the truck with her on my lap. I noticed she has made a wet spot on my pants. Assuming it was just some urine from her potty trip, I used a towel to wipe me and her off. That’s when I noticed that coming from her vulva was a thick, milky, yellow color liquid that was accompanied by a fishy smell. This led me to think that maybe she has a case of vaginitis. As the day progressed, both smells and the discharge disappeared. And as of this morning, no trace of either can found. I was already planning on taking her to the vet on Friday, should I take her in sooner? She just finished her first heat last week and I am planning on finding out this week when we can get her fixed.
