Thank you very much for answering my question. I will take her to see the vet as soon as possible this week for a full check up because she is currently eating Hill’s Ideal Balance that was recommended by a pet nutritionist at PetSmart so I was a little worried it may have been too sudden a change from what she was eating before.
My 7 pound dog injested a heaping tablespoon of cold pressed coconut oil over a month ago and still has loose stools with some watery blood drops. Help

Hello, I adopted my dog, a Pittbull Terrier mix, from a shelter this weekend and they did not tell me what she was being fed. I have not been able to reach them and she has been experiencing loose stool, at times it firms up a bit but today it was particularly soft. I did some research and it said that I should have gradually switched her diet over to avoid such an issue. Apart from this she is happy and very active and shows no issues.

Update: My Cat Was Drooling Clear Liquid Then It Turned To Brown And Then Bleeding…
Update: My cat was drooling clear liquid then it turned to brown and then bleeding in approximately a week. Then she was rescued and taken to the Vet. She got treatment and was better with no vomiting, bleeding etc. but she was not eating. For day she passed loose stools. She was cured but then she ran away for a day. She was again rescued and fed milk and glucose water. her ears were warm at this time. She had three seizures followed by this.
She was taken tothe hospital and given an injection (Lori umm am not sure) after which she slept for like a day and then she was a little relaxed…she again had a seizure which was less severe after 27 hours…then treated… no injection for seizure this time no fever……… she became restless and wanted to be out of the basket…we released her…she started biting…had more seizures in the next 12 hours…at this point she wanted to eat and ate a little bit idk because of anger or hunger
we calmed her down and sent her to the hospital. all this happened over a period of 13 14 days…please tell me what this was…doctor tried to draw blood but it would not come out…no test could be done…is it RABIES?
One of my chihuahuas at some pork he vomited nonchewed porked. Had loose stool twice then vomited vile is now laying very sleepy. With the other two chis laying with him what could be the cause? He is not with me right now?
Three weeks ago we transitioned our Siberian husky from proplan to blue wilderness and since Monday he has had loose stool and last night he had diarrhea twice and the second time was real bad. What should I do to calm him belly down?

Cheryl Rosso We changed from proplan to blue because we heard good things and we wanted to feed our 3 dogs better but now maybe not such a good idea.

Anonymous i have to be honest…i used to feed blue wilderness. i LOVED that food…until they changed the formulation. it caused serious problems for my IBD-sufferer cat, so i stopped feeding it. it caused him uncontrollable diarrhea. my other cat also starting having bouts of diarrhea after the change, so i switched to Wellness.
maybe try Wellness CORE? we have had quite a bit of success with it.

Cheryl Rosso Laura- that’s what one of my friends said too that they changed the ingredients. My husky could not stomach the blue so now we’re dealing with diarrhea bland diet and reintroduce what we use to feed them.

Anonymous i’d say it’s been about 3 years? basically, when they started advertising heavily on TV and in the papers, it was immediately after they were purchased by another company. that’s when they changed the recipe…and it’s a shame, because it used to be a great food.
other options i’d consider: Horizon Pulsar, Costco’s Kirkland grain-free, Merrick (this didn’t work well for my dog but it does for many others, and it’s very affordable), Acana and Orijen (though these may be too rich…tread lightly here). if you hit Pet Valu up in Perry Hall, they should have free sample bags of some things to try.
You need to take him to a vet your dog may have pancreatitis or an inflamed gastrointestinal tract which needs to be treated.
There may be another underlying condition that really needs to be treated. When was the last time your dog was wormed? It may have absolutely nothing to do with the coconut oil…. or it may. Has she continued to stay on the same diet or have any changes been made?
You should see a vet, he may be dehydrated as more than a few days of diarreah can cause dehydration and there may be an underlying health issue and not the coconut oil.
