I have a golden retriever 11 years male a chow lab mix 15 female and pit bull mix 6 female they all get along without any issues but the pit bull doesn’t get along with any dogs outside of the house so I would like someone opinion about my rescue dog pit bull 2 female friendly keeping her in her own room with access to side back yard area walking her daily and socializing with other dogs be ok ?

My male dog penetrated my other male dog. They were tied for about 15 minutes. This was yesterday. Now my Yorkie Poodle is moving around very slowly, has diarreah and wont eat. I chekced his stool and NO blood.

Hi, I need some tips on my situation with my bunny so it would be great if you wouldn’t mind helping me out. My bunny is an adult medium male Brown HollandLop, I had had him since he was very little. I decided to have him free ranged around my garden both day and night because he would be very aggressive and stressed out if I caged him even though his cage is very big ( 3 meters long, 2 meters tall and 2 meters wide). I have never seen any other predators except stray cats, I wouldn’t worry about the cats that much because my rabbits are great friends with my dog and he would scare away the cats and at night my bunny would choose to go sleep in my garage which is right next to one of my families room so if anything bad happens we would hear it. I don’t know if this is safe but he seems very happy to be free ranged and have this cage open so he can go in for pellets and veggies. Please give me your opinion on what I should do with my situation.

Anonymous your area is completely without birds of prey? that’s surprising. and you can’t count on predators behaving around prey. your dog is also a predator. he may be trained to leave the rabbit alone, but that doesn’t mean you should leave them together unsupervised.
is your rabbit not used to being handled? are you rough when putting him in the cage?

Chawfaar Bowornwattanangkoon My rabbit is totally used to being handled but after I have him run around during the day he would have a really hard time going back in. And I live in Thailand so there are no foxes etc. My dog isn’t really a concern to me because he have been with my rabbit since they are very little but I do supervise my dog while he is outside with the bunny. I rabbit is very bonded to me so if I go outside to would come to me.

B. Lakonpa I let my rabbits run around the yard but only when I can supervise them. Your rabbit might end up wandering too far or a predator could find him, even though he doesn’t want to go in the cage, it’s whats best for his safety. How big is your cage?

Hello. I recently got a dog by a woman who said she could no longer take care of her. The lady said that she also thinks the dog is pregnant. About 3 weeks later her abdomen had grown and her nipplez were easily seen under her fur. I really thought she was pregnant but yesterday I noticed she was licking herself and she was bleeding. Later a male dog came to her. Nothing happened though. Was this her gaining weight because of regular meals and she’s in heat or is there some pregnancy complications

Anonymous to add: once he’s been seen by your vet (ASAP, please – UTIs can be deadly if a blockage happens!), retrain him to the litterbox. put him in a bathroom with the litterbox (and food and water, of course!), and ensure he’s using it regularly for about a week before you let him back out into the rest of the house.

I have to tell you that I hear you! I understand your dilemma and I want you to know that you are not alone!
Many of us move to no area that has amenities for us. I moved to the country for the open spaces, peace, solitude, and love of nature. BUT, I moved to a part of the country close to two major metropolitan cities so I can sneak in for the arts, the culture, and the gourmet food. I have the best of both worlds. For my pups they got open fields, and an ever abundant supply of things to play with, chew, and also a smorgasbord of wonderful things to eat.
My dogs have a long and varied list of delectable tid bits that they can find right outside my front door. Of particular delight is the ever abundant wildlife feces. My dogs are not discriminating. They love to eat rabbit and deer feces and they roll in ground hog poop, (which I will add is the most vile excrement imaginable).
Because we are both in the same boat I will tell you what I do and what I recommend.
The consequence of eating rabbit poop can be gastro-intestinal upset (vomiting, diarrhea, etc), parasites, and some diseases.
The only way to avoid these consequences of feces ingestion is to keep them from being accessible (keep the wildlife out), or keep your pet from eating them (by picking up feces, pretty much impossible with deer and rabbit poop, or keeping your pet on a leash with you and under constant supervision). In all honesty I will tell you that I am not doing either.
What I do is keep my dogs on a heartworm preventative that also protects against intestinal worms, and I check a fecal sample every six months, or anytime I get a bout of diarrhea.
In reality I will also confess that I know all of my patients eat poop, (in Northern Maryland we are buried under wildlife and there resultant waste products), and most do very well. When we get diarrhea we check fecals and de-worm as needed.
I would recommend you discourage your Yorkie Poo and see your veterinarian if you have an ill pup.

Hello Eddie, I don’t quite understand the question….but I think you mean separate your pitbull from the other dogs in your house? Give her her own room with outside access to the yard?
This would be ok but I think you might run the risk of upsetting the harmony between the 3 of them. Your pitbull may end up jealous and feeling left out. She could turn on the other two maybe. She would certainly miss them. All you could do is give it a try and see.
I don’t know if your pitbull would ever be able to socialise and be friendly with other dogs at 6 years old, she could be too set in her ways now. Maybe you could muzzle her and see how that goes too…..the last thing you want is another dog bitten…..

I met the new dog 2 year old might not get along with the 6 year old I would keep the 6 year old Pitt with the golden and lab chow mix they get along fine but she probably wouldn’t get along with the new dog so I was going to keep the new dog by it self

I think you will get tired of this arrangement very quickly. After a few day if one or two of the dogs think they need to get to the other dog(s) you will have a dangerous situation. One second of not paying attention. One visiting friend that doesn’t understand the consequences of opening a door and you will have an out-of-control situation.
And these are all BIG dogs. You won’t be able to just pick up one of the dogs to end the fight.
I have fostered dogs that wanted to kill smaller dogs (one of my own dogs!). Every precaution was taken — two doors/gates between the dogs. The aggressive dog was harnessed and had to always drag a leash for me to step on (these were terriers that I could pick up to help end any aggression). The aggressive dog was never allowed into the yard with the smaller dogs unless there were 2 handlers that were working with the aggressive dog (1 to work with the aggressive dog, and 1 to make sure the smaller dogs did not approach the aggressive dog).
I finally got the aggressive dog to accept that MY small dog was not something for him to kill and they got to the point that they could all be in the kennel all day together. BUT he was still willing to attack unknown small dogs on sight.
In the 6 months he was with me, even being as careful as I could be, this dog attacked small dogs four times. Visitors opened a door that someone else left unlocked, the aggressive dog pushed down a baby gate that we thought was secure enough to hold him, he got over a fence that we thought was too high for him to climb, etc. Each of the small dogs attacked were bitten and bloody — and they suffered PTS. It was pure luck that determined dog never got just the right hold on the other dogs so that he could break their necks. Cause that is what he was trying to do!
So, ask yourself how dangerous is the situation. How sure are you that you can keep your dog(s) safe from the aggressor. I have fostered over 30 dogs, several of which came to me as very aggressive dogs so I had experience. And it was still very overwhelming for me at times.
I commend you for wanting to rescue another dog — just be sure you don’t endanger the new dog, or your own dog(s) in the process.
