Hi, I’m so so sorry! How dreadful that someone would do that. I assume you are certain they have been poisioned? They couldn’t have eaten a toxic plant or something? Whichever way your dogs have become you MUST take the ones that are still alive to a Vet URGENTLY. If you don’t you could well lose them all. They really should have gone to the Vet as soon as you saw symptoms and they died. Please please taken them all to a Vet NOW. I do hope they survive…but it is unlikely without professional treatment.

My 12 Lb French Bulldog/Shitzu Mix Is Displaying Symptoms Of Garlic Poisoning After Ingesting Garlic…

Hi Emily, Sorry to hear this. There is nothing you can do at home for your dog. She needs to see a Vet urgently. If you had taken her to a Vet when she first ingested the garlic powder the Vet would have induced vomiting to remove it from her stomach. She may well have been kept at the Vet for a day or so to make sure there were no further effects from the garlic. Unfortunately after 10 hours the garlic is in her system and will be far more difficult to treat and eridicate it. Please don’t leave it any longer VET NOW. Do hope your dog will be ok.

Agreed- just to add, drinking water may help flush your dogs system quicker, but making a dog drink might prove difficult. I would also advise getting to the vet ASAP.

    Hello,
I am sorry to hear about your dog. If your dog did get into rat poison it certainly an be fatal. The longer you wait to get help the worse your dogs prognosis is. It is helpful to know what kind of poison he ate. With this information we recommend that you call the pet poison helping and the product manufacturer to get help for your dog. In most cases we pre-emptiness stray dogs on vitamin K supplements to slow or stop the clotting problems that rat poisons kill by. I cannot over emphasize how important it is to get help. I also cannot over empathize how quickly you need to act. Rat poison is a cruel, painful, and awful way to die. No one should ever buy or use this product. There are better, safer ways to manage rats. I suggest a cat, or two.

Was that a court ruling of some sort that you were told to put him down? Would the vet know about this? How about a different vet, then?

MY Cat Has Been Sick For 5 Days With A Fever. No Vomiting No Diarrhea…

MY cat has been sick for 5 days with a fever. No vomiting no diarrhea except for a little on the second day. He has a fever, he’s drinking a lot, lethargic, not grooming. I took him to a vet who gave him something for the fever and an antibiotic shot. He’s eating and drinking which is good but the fever is not going down. The vet prescribed Fevadol which has paracetamol in it. We are in a country with no good vets and no real access to pet medication, but everything I have read says that paracetamol is poisonous to cats. I would give anything for him to get better, but there are no vets that I trust here and I am so confused on what to do. He’s obviously fighting an infection but the vet said he doesn’t seem to have a URI, he has no signs in his chest and no discharge from eyes or nose. I just don’t know what to do and it’s breaking my heart watching him in pain. please help.
He’s a 4 year old male.

Normally I would tell you to follow the doctor’s instructions but it seems paracetamol  is acetometaphin which is very toxic to cats!!! However, without examining your cat it is impossible for me to really give you any advice.  My recommendation is to try and find a vet you trust because your cat needs treatment.

    Good luck

Thank you for your response. I know he needs treatment, I am very scared for him, but as I said there are no reliable vets here. Is there something over the counter that could bring down his fever?

    No there really isn’t.

I Found A Cat In Front Of My Doorstep 2 Days Ago, And Since It’s…

I found a cat in front of my doorstep 2 days ago, and since it’s Easter holidays where I’m from – there’s no open vet clinics in my region. I thought it’s poisoned, so I gave it active charcoal 4 times, 7mg for 7lb, in the span of 8 hours. Then I started feeding it with pectin, and it was looking a lot better. Now things have turned for the worse, it cannot move its feet at all. What can I do?

Hello, My Name Is Zachary And I Am Looking For Help On An Adult Cat…

Hello, my name is Zachary and I am looking for help on an adult cat rectal prolase, anything you can help me with would be greatly appreciated.A few months ago my cat got very sick. He couldn’t drink water or eat. He urinated on himself where he laid. I believe he had perhaps got into a neighbor houses rat poison or maybe antifreeze. After a few days of him being near death, it seemed as though he had came back to himself. He still wouldn’t eat hard food but he drank liquids so I gave him kitten formula because that’s what was available at my local stores. He gained his weight back but there was one persistent problem. He used the litter box constantly. Mostly urinating and he would go back to back several times. And now the rectal prolapse. I understand the treatment for the prolapse but how do I solve the cause of the problem? Is there a certain price the treatment will cost that I should expect? And is there any financial assistance that I can look in to? I know you are in a different state “Im in KY” but maybe something national? Thank you for reading all of this, I really need to know what to expect before I move forward with the issue. Also I found out about you through your youtube channel, keep up the excellent work, Krista.

VitaHound Is Continually Evaluating And Searching For Highly Dependable Dog Care Resources. Over…

VitaHound is continually evaluating and searching for highly dependable dog care resources. Over the past 20 years we have assembled a directory of the top organizations to reference for canine care issues by category. We are currently evaluating our selection of Pet Poison help lines and or Websites. Our current recommendation is http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/, our staff would truly appreciate the opinion of pet owners on this source and suggestions on other sources. This site currently is for profit and a current survey of pet owners indicates the fees involved in any pet care service creates a real barrier to access.

Hello, you don’t say if this is a dog or a cat ect.

Any animal this young showing these symptoms needs a Vet urgently. Please take Bella straight away or she could well die if you don’t. This could be Parvo Virus….but whatever it is she will not recover without professional treatment.

Good luck and I really hope little Bella is alright.
