Hello,
I Changed My Bettas Water Two Days Ago And This Morning He Would Not…

Hello,
I changed my bettas water two days ago and this morning he would not dance for me and I noticed his gills have a red tinge to them. He is active other than not dancing for breakfast and doesn’t seem to have difficulty breathing. All my reaserch come up with Ammonia burns but that doesn’t make sense with it happening after a water change instead of in dirty water.

He lives in a 3 gallon bowl that I do a 75%water change on weekly. I put aquarium salt in the water as well as conditioner and let it sit in the same room as his bowl for 2 days. I am very worried about him and need to know how to help him as I am leaving today for the weekend and have to give my mom instructions on how to medicate and care for him.

Please Help!

I Tried Twce Today And The First Time I Understood Cause It Was Drizzling And…

i tried twce today and the first time i understood cause it was drizzling and he doesn’t like to get wet anymore, but the second time it clears up kinda cloudy but good and he refused to go down the stoop steps and when he finally did he didn’t want to walk just stand there but when i went to sit down he decided to sit next to me and enjoy the weather and get some good love and petting, i know its probably just him wanting more time with me and he does like to enjoy weather sometimes stopping on walks for along time but today was odd he just refused and when i finally said lets go upstairs he rushed ( well as best as he could) to go back up, i know lots of people are home today and he loves to be home with everyone but i was worried and didn’t understand why he wouldn’t want to walk he’s decided on his usual indoor potty today

I would take him to the vet to be sure everything else is okay.  Likely he has pain secondary to arthritis which is the reason he has slowed down.  Your vet can evaluate this and prescribe therapies that can help.

So until I can get him to a vet woukd it be wise to let him just lay in his cushioned bed to rest and ease some pain and not bother him ? I’m also giveinf him a hip and joint treat supplement I’m wondering if that helps any for now.

are you certain this is pain?  cats tend to hide when they’re hurting.  what does your vet say?

unfortunately, he may be nearing the end of his lifespan.  i HOPE he’s okay overnight.  i HOPE he will be fine and he’s just sick.  i might try to keep him warm overnight, and i’d rush him to the vet first thing in the morning.

The lifespan for rats and mice is about two years even with the best of care. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. Keep him warm and get him to the vet as early as possible.

I would definitly go to a vet with her. While with 15 months your mouse is older now, she still doesn’t need to day. Maybe a vet can still help your mouse. Most mice I knew got around 18-20 month old. As I can’t see him I can’t tell for sure of course, if help is still possible. The breathing problems and clicking sound could be signs of a lunginfection. He should get antibiotics for this. Sometimes Vitamin B can also help.
It is important to keep him warm and hydrated. You can try to place a drop of water near his mouth so he can lick it up. Goes best with a pipette or a smallsyringe without needle. But don’t try to force it into him. if he has already breathing problems this can make it worse.

I had a dog for 15 years, she Loved to chew apart a log or stick and this same sound of coughing would happen but only for a few hours, so I know thi IS a common problem. Thanks anyway.

She is a 5 month Pomeranian. We have taken her to the vet and was prescribed some tonics. But still there is no change. She also loves to eat paper and anything else she can get her paws on. She still hasn’t understood commands like SIT, STAY, etc. I am 15 and she is my first pet.

she’s the right age for teething, which is when puppies’ gums are sore and eating can be painful.  this is also the age both of my puppies went through a stage where they didn’t want to eat anything, so i would use that as an opportunity for training.  i would put the bowl down and leave it for 15 minutes, and if she doesn’t touch the bowl, pick it back up.  i would use her kibble as training treats so she’s working for it – you should be working on basic obedience right now, anyway, so it’s an ideal opportunity for that.

once she has all her adult teeth in, she should go back to eating normally.

i would keep things she shouldn’t eat out of her reach.

-history, My Ex Husband And I Got Her At 7 Weeks Old. He Already Had…

-history, my ex husband and I got her at 7 weeks old. He already had a lab (approx 8 months old). We separated and I was able to keep my girl, he kept the boy. She has had 2 litters. The first, 11 puppies all healthy- the second, all passed away. (The litters were in no way planned) Not directly after the second litter but within a year she started getting severe ear infections. She was fixed and treated for yeast infections for the ears- she never full relief. After a couple rounds of antibiotics my vet recommended getting blood work done as well as allergy testing. Turns out she is allergic to 21 different things and is in the early stages of kidney failure.

I am taking complete care if her medical issues and spend a good amount of time with her. We go on morning walks, I come home at lunch and take her out, we go on evening walks, and she sleeps in my bed with me.

She is the sweetest pup I’ve ever known, but she is overly clingy. At first it was cute but now anytime I move, she moves. I walk into a different room, she follows. I go to use the bathroom and she sits at my feet. Literally, if she could, she would crawl inside me. Again, I love my pup, I’m just concerned this is not healthy.

Any advice??

I Need Your Advise Regarding My 11 Months Old Persian Male Cat. The Problem Is…

I need your advise regarding my 11 months old Persian male cat. the problem is that my cat wants to go out for mating and if we do not let him go out he sprays and pees in the house which causes a very bad odor in the house. Now that we have let him out on his own he has started to spray around outside and you can smell the odor as soon as you enter through gate.
Secondly we have tried to set up play dates for him and lock both the cats in bathroom but uptill now he hasn’t mated.
Thirdly, there is a stray cat outside which is on heat all he does is that he sits beside her all day long and if we bring him inside the female cat starts to cry which make him go crazy to go outside.
Finally, I want to ask you about getting my cat neutered. The pros and cons of getting the cat neutered. I have heard from someone that the cat’s personality changes and we have to take care of him more because there will be a wound after his operation and all the people in our house go to work. Hence, there can be a problem in taking care of him 24/7.
