He Has Had A Lot Of Meds. One Initial Antibiotic Shot At The Vet. Oral…

He has had a lot of meds. One initial antibiotic shot at the vet. Oral antibiotics x’s 2 rounds. Now, I’m giving him shots at home. The swelling (there was a lot) is pretty much gone. No fever for several days. He is , of course, weak from all of this. He has lost his appetite. He was eating chicken noodle soup and broth. Now, he doesn’t even want that. I’m sure all the meds have irritated his stomach. He kinda snarls his nose now when I try. I need help! We see the vet again Wednesday. 10 hours of nursing during the day and 5-6 at home begging a dog to eat. Any suggestions? I’m thrilled the swelling is gone, now I need him eat. He will drink water. Not as much as before, but he drinks.

My dog was fine earlier, then all of the sudden he’s whimpering, whining, and limping, he whimpers out loud when you rubs the top of his head. So now he’s laying under me. Is there anything you can tell me, can’t afford the vet.

He might of hit his head pretty hard sense you can’t afford a vet just watch him for a few days and if it gets worse you gotta to the vet.;)

  2. Brooke Stein

you gotta take him to the vet.:)

Hello Brittany, I agree with Brooke your dog is in pain and needs to see a Vet. If you don’t have the funds then please get them from somewhere…..borrow the money phone Vets see if they will let you pay it off. Dogs like people need medical attention sometimes and your dog needs it now.

He won’t lay his head down or nothing and if you touch the right side of his head and neck he cries out.

  5. julie brader

If you haven’t already taken him to a Vet then you need to take him urgently. Hes in pain and suffering. Please don’t just leave him like this. You need to find the money to take him from somewhere.

I took him to the vet, he’s back to his normal self now ☺☺☺☺

This may happen due to a conflict between 2 medicines or between her food and medicine. No matter what, not drinking water is NEVER a good sign. Please run to the vet before it’s too late!

One Dog Gets Anxiety When I’m Not Around, And She Also Currently Has Digestive Tract…

One dog gets anxiety when I’m not around, and she also currently has digestive tract problems as a result of breast cancer, so I am worried about her. I am able to visit the dogs; they are staying with my parents. But, I was wondering if I keep leaving them, will that just cause more anxiety for them than if I didn’t visit at all?

Surely you must have a veterinary ER or 24-hour hospital or an on-call vet somewhere? These are SERIOUS symptoms.

My Parents Have An 8 Month Old Chihuahua That Has Always Been Very Energetic, Playful…

My parents have an 8 month old chihuahua that has always been very energetic, playful and loving. All of a sudden she became extremely lethargic, seems unbalanced, dry nose and she is constantly licking her chops and from time to time opens her jaw wide and paws at the inside of her mouth. It’s been a couple weeks now and she is not back to normal. She’s been to the vet twice and they can’t find anything. Could it be neurological or possibly something in her mouth they can’t find?

Did they check bloodwork, or consider sedation in order to explore the back of her mouth, soft pallet?  I would consider a second opinion, if not…

  2. Whitney Grim

Blood work and xrays came back normal and they did sedate her and check her mouth. The only other option is to find specialists and my parents just can’t afford it right now. Not sure what to do from here.

Chelsea you need to take her to a Vet to find whats causing this. Your dog is in great pain to the point of causing swelling when she tries to defecate. Please don’t leave her like this any longer, she needs help.

  2. Chelsea Sweeney

Yes, I know this already. I have an appointment this week but in the meantime trying to find something that might give her relief as I am very aware that this is painful for her.
