I Took My Cat To A Vet Because She Started Vomiting And Had Diarrhea As…

I took my cat to a vet because she started vomiting and had diarrhea as well with fever. The vet gave her 3 injection along with a medication I had to give her later that night. However, the next day she still vomited, as well as today but the diarrhea stopped. I really need to know if this is normal since her body is trying to get rid of the virus. And what signs should I look for that can be alarming.

he needs a vet, not a flight anywhere.  please reconsider flying him and instead take him to the vet.

his bloodworm came back elevated 2300 wbc, and increase folic i believe. Liver enzymes and pancreatic levels normal, as well as kidneys. she sent him home with flagyl and amoxicillin, let me tell you thats not a joy to give him. He is miserable with the meds. and looks a little withdrawn. She wanted to do an exploratory lap prior to returning the blood-work. But decided to give meds to see how he does. we haven’t done a catscan yet. I just don’t want to get raked over the coals with vet bills.. But i want to help my poor little man. What would be the best course of action with the info i gave so far. Please let me know. Lexis8135@gmail.com

The First 2 Days Started With A Large Amount Of Vomit Early In The A.m…

The first 2 days started with a large amount of vomit early in the a.m. not normal fur ball vomit but a watered down milk consistency with fur in it. Day 3 brought on vomiting throughout the day and refusal to eat. Also stopped using the bathroom. Day 4 vomit is yellow in color now still with fur, still refusing to eat, still hasn’t used the bathroom. Just sleeps and vomits. What can I do?

Vet time.  Could be an impacted hairball, could be something else, but your vet really needs to see your cat TODAY.  4 days is a LONG time without food, and cats really can’t go without for too long without serious health problems as a result.

I’ve lost a dog to parvo, and this is exactly what happened with her.
Actually, we lost 5 dogs on my block because of it.
Please get your pup some medical attention asap!
If you can’t this very minute, offer him pedialite to keep him hydrated until you can(still get him in ASAP!)
Praying for the lil guy/girl ?

the not drinking would worry me, so i’d take her to your vet – every new pet should be seen by your vet within 3 days of coming home, anyway.

My 5 Month Puppy Has Been Throwing Up Multiple Times In The Past Couple Weeks…

My 5 month puppy has been throwing up multiple times in the past couple weeks. She starts to breath heavy almost sounding congested and then vomits. It is usually clear fluid sometimes with a slight yellow tint and has full undigested treats. It usually happens at the end of the night.

So, I’m obviously not an expert, but I can tell you that my 6 month old labrador retriever experienced something similar to this about two weeks ago and it turns out it was because he had (over the course of a couple of weeks we think) been swallowing pieces of a blanket, which caused a stomach/intestinal blockage. After a trip to the vet and a barium study (and about $500) he is fine, but it was scary for a few hours there. Not sure if this helps, but thought I would share. Good luck with your puppy!

Thanks! I’m pretty sure that is what happened. Did your vet have to remove the blockage or did it pass on its own?

  3. Tracey Nash

Thankfully it passed on it’s own! The vet wanted to keep him until it had traveled to his colon (she said the esophagus, stomach and intestines are where they worry about it getting stuck) and then once it’s there, she said we were out of the trouble zone, so we could take him home and wait for him to pass it naturally. It took a couple of days and came out in several different pieces, but eventually was all gone. Really hope everything turns out okay with your puppy!
