i would be worried about fighting between them.  are the others male?  can you house him separately?

  2. Brendon Cheong Vinnten

Yes, the other are male. I have separated them earlier. But it’s still the same , what should I do 🙁

well, i’m not a vet, but i’d be worried about serious injuries. hamsters should never be housed together – they’re a solitary species – and when house together will often fight until one is dead.

I Noticed The Swelling 2 Days Ago. It Is Between The One Eye And Upper…

I noticed the swelling 2 days ago. It is between the one eye and upper jaw / cheek. She is 10 years old with no previous medical history. She is not exhibiting any other unusual behaviour. Her appetite is as usual. No discharge of fluid in the eye or mouth. No signs of lesions or wounds. Gums are pink. I am able to touch the area and she does not seem to be in pain. It feels hard like a stiff muscle.
PLEASE ADVISE!
Regards

Thank you SO much!!! It appeared quite suddenly…when I left the house that morning she was still fine, when I returned about 5 hours later I noticed the swelling. I honestly hope its not cancer 🙁
My vet will only be available tomorrow morning… will it be fine to wait till then?

My Dog Was Attacked Today By A Neighbour Dog. She Had A Nasty Looking Tooth…

My dog was attacked today by a neighbour dog. She had a nasty looking tooth mark in her side and was clearly in pain, so we rushed her to the vet. After examining her and stitching her up, the vet told us that the wound was already showing signs of infection and had been there at least 2 days. He insinuated that we were lying about the time of the attack and refused to discuss any other reasons for the infection. He put a drain in the wound and gave us antibiotics, but now I’m really worried that something else could be wrong with her. We weren’t lying! The attack really did happen only a few hours before and I noticed a mucousy discharge only minutes after the attack. Can infection set in that quickly? She was in good health and had no known wounds before today.

There Are No Clear Wounds And He Doesn’t Scream When You Feel Along His Body…

there are no clear wounds and he doesn’t scream when you feel along his body and legs, just at random times maybe when he’s moved or especially when picked up.

Being in such a rural area the owner (cambodian) does not seem to understand that his pet could be really hurt on the inside etc

The only thing you can do is try to convince the owner to take him for help.  Also, you can see if there is an agency similar to Humane Society or SPCA who can get the dog looked at

  2. Bonnie Lowe

Yeah I’m hoping I can do that

  3. Bonnie Lowe

I have also sent the vet in the area (found one online) a message to see if he can give me advice

It could be a spinal injury which is VERY painful, and it will need pain medication and rest to recover.

He Has Developed Many Scabs. Some Look Like A Big Pimple, While Other Crusting…

He has developed many scabs. Some look like a big pimple, while other crusting has developed in lines on skin. He, for the most part, will let me clean the wounds and try to ease his issue. His skin is hot to touch. Just in the past few days Ziggy has developed vision and hearing problems. Both eyes have a thick, yellowish “boogie”. He is very lethargic recently as well. Ziggy isn’t yelping, crying,or verbal in any way showing he is in great pain.

I Need Your Advise Regarding My 11 Months Old Persian Male Cat. The Problem Is…

I need your advise regarding my 11 months old Persian male cat. the problem is that my cat wants to go out for mating and if we do not let him go out he sprays and pees in the house which causes a very bad odor in the house. Now that we have let him out on his own he has started to spray around outside and you can smell the odor as soon as you enter through gate.
Secondly we have tried to set up play dates for him and lock both the cats in bathroom but uptill now he hasn’t mated.
Thirdly, there is a stray cat outside which is on heat all he does is that he sits beside her all day long and if we bring him inside the female cat starts to cry which make him go crazy to go outside.
Finally, I want to ask you about getting my cat neutered. The pros and cons of getting the cat neutered. I have heard from someone that the cat’s personality changes and we have to take care of him more because there will be a wound after his operation and all the people in our house go to work. Hence, there can be a problem in taking care of him 24/7.

My Dog Was Attacked By Another Dog And Has Bite Wounds. I Treated The Wounds…

My dog was attacked by another dog and has bite wounds. I treated the wounds with Blu Kote but what can I give her for pain that I would have in my medicine cabinet?

Sorry to hear about your dog. Please take her to the vets, she might need antibiotics in case of an infection..and I don’t know of anything you can give her for pain that is in your medicine cabinet…NO ibuprofen, that is dangerous. Call an emergency vet in your area and ask them, do not medicate the dog yourself, could harm  her. I am sure a vet could tell you on the phone if there is something, but if she is in pain and has bite marks I’d really get her to the vets asap. Dogs have a lot of bacterial in their mouths, wouldn’t want an infection to set in. Hope she is ok.

My Cat Has A Wound On His Tail. We Don’t Know Where The Wound Came…

My cat has a wound on his tail. We don’t know where the wound came from, but it looks like a scratch, it’s not very big, and we suspect it came from a mean neighborhood cat.

However, it has a weird strand of something coming out of it that has me worried. It’s thin, about 2.5 inches / 6 cm long, roughly tan colored except in a few places where it’s dark and more red, and about halfway down its length it becomes very thin, kind of like a hair. It does seem to be affixed to his tail, though I’m not sure if it’s actually coming out of the wound.

Here’s an album with a few pictures of it: http://imgur.com/a/bTck4

Touching it is obviously uncomfortable for my cat. Occasionally he’ll lick it, and I’ve seen him chewing at it a few times as though he’s trying to get rid of it. Other than that, I see no change in his behavior. His tail still has its full range of movement.

What is this thing? Is it serious enough that we should take him to a vet?

Just took him to the vet, and they found that the scratch on his tail was bigger than we thought and the thing sticking out was nerve tissue!

Fortunately they bandaged him up, gave him an antibiotic, and he’s going to be okay.
